Transworld: Subscribe and Catch the Action
This Subscription ad for Transworld is soooooooo 80’s. Every time I saw this ad I couldn’t figure out who the guy in right was. He looks like Anthony Michael Hall’s big brother, at the time. It wasn’t till scanning some other ads that I figured out it was Per Holknekt, because he shows up in an ad for the Tracker Flipside deck with same girl, which you have to assume was his girlfriend. Must have been a busy day for Per, as they both have the same clothes on in the other add, with the exception of the Transworld shirt Per wears in this ad. Speaking of Per, who is that chipmunk looking kid in the car? Both subscription ads in this issue refer to Transworld Skateboarding as Trans-World Skateboarding, which is interesting if you have a certain amount of OCD.
Some fast and clean Trans-world action. The best part of scanning this ad was having the OCR app transcribe J. Grant Brittain’s name as “J. Glam Bmlam.”
