Omnitech: For Serious Skaters Only

omnitech

Omnitech Skateboards from South Boston, Va. Wow. These guys took out a two page spread in Transworld magazine with typography that looks like it came from a Mac 128k. The two shapes are pretty awful. One looks like a half started Mark Lake Nightmare and the other, well, it’s almost ok for the time period, but they both look like the work of a first time shaper. With names like the Entropy and the Omni Alpha and those remedial graphics, it’s no wonder you probably don’t remember these, despite designer Thom Coates best efforts. It was a poor decision to not show an Omnitech board actually being used, and other to only sell them as completes. The sales pitch stresses quality over hype, but what a tough sell this is.

FOR THE SERIOUS SKATEBOARDER ONLY

We believe that the money you spend on a skateboard should to into constructing the deck of stronger, higher quality material and not into printing cartoons on the back of it.

Thats why when you buy an OMNITECH deck you know you are buying the best money can buy, but not paying MEGA – BUCKS for it. In fact we are so sure of the quality of our decks that we warranty them for the life of the user against de-lamination and/or breakage.

So, if you want cartoons watch t.v. , but if you want a high quality skateboard thats made to be put to the test, try an OMNITECH deck and see the difference quality can make in your skateboarding.

OMNITECH DECKS ARE BUILT TO TAKE ABUSE

ENTROPY XHD SPECIFICATIONS Length 30″ – Tail 11″ – 9″ midsection. 10″ Concave Front
OMNI -ALPHA SPECIFICATIONS: Length 29 – Tall 8.5″ – 10″ Concave Front

See the difference quality can make in your skateboarding.

  • Correction: Omnitech Skateboards was in South Boston – Virginia.

  • I have the Entropy on the left, Indy 215’s and Hosoi Rockets. I rode all the halfpipes and parks in the Daytona Beach area with it, also rode Kona about twice a month (1987-9). Never broke it, bought it after breaking about 6 other brands, the Omnitechs had kevlar in the laminates (unlike the tarpaper “bonite” in 80’s Powell’s). I was around 215 lbs back then, I still have this board and ride it occasionally even though I’m 50 now!

  • Prickly Pete

These would be great if I needed a surface to land an airplane. Probably wouldn’t snap the deck either.
