Introducing Avon Boosters

Introducing Booster wheels.

Because our weather isn’t quite like California’s.

The rainy day radicals

You’ve probably noticed that the action isn’t the only thing that’s hot in Stateside skateboard pics.

That’s right, we’re talking about the weather. Like it never seems to rain in California. So it stands to reason that all those California wheels aren’t really built to get to grips with wet concrete.

Which is fine unless you do most of your skating in rainy old London or Manchester. Then it means that a lot of days you just don’t skate.

Well, we decided it was about time British skaters had a great British wheel, for British conditions.

Avon Boosters are complete with precision bearings.

So here it is – the best looking, best gripping, smoothest riding wheel you’ve ever laid eyes on – the great, new Avon Booster.

Boost your performance

Specially designed for conditions where the surface alternates between wet and dry, the Avon Booster wheel features negative edge reinforcement and is made from scientificall formulated 86 durometer ‘blue’ urethane, giving the ultimate combination of speed, control and wet/dry transitional grip, coupled with silent running and a smooth, smooth ride.

Available in 65mm diameter, Avon Boosters are suitable for speed, slalom, freestyle and bowl- riding.

A little more sunshine

Now, you’re probably thinking that having made a wheel that lets vou skate the minute the rain stops we’re going to put a damper on things with a really gloomy price-tag.

RRP £4-65 EACH

Well here’s something else to brighten up your life. Avon Boosters cost around £4.65 each – and that includes shielded precision bearings!

Not a bad price for a wheel that’s all set to rule the skateboard scene.

Avon Boosters. Check them out at your local skateshop now.

  • Living in Bradford on Avon we saw these early on. A school friend also tried out a set of oval shaped prototype Boosters that I think were aimed at bowl riding? Loads of parents worked at Avon so a lot of kids ended up with them after a while.
