l used to skate a 8 foot concrete full pipe on a banzai skateboard in the mid 70’s. I used to gorilla grip the nose with my front foot and get 2 feet past vertical frontside and backside and rarely bail. My toes gripping the thin nose gave me more confidence to go for it. It was 50 feet long and went under a roadway. There is 3 pipes but only 1 is usually clear of debris, the other 2 usually is full of rocks a foot deep. I rounded out the pointy nose which helped me grip it better. I never realized that that was the first double kick skateboard ever made and that since the 90’s most skateboards are double kick but wood instead of aluminum. The Banzai being light durable aluminum helped it survive some crashes off the ceiling of the pipe when I would sometimes abort the ride. Mine was red anodized and I put red grip tape on top because at that time grip tape only came in black or red at the hardware stores. It came in 2 foot long by 6″ wide. It was mainly sold to be sticker onto steps for grip.
