VHS Skate Theater: Radical Moves Part 1

Found in a Box VHS Skate Theater is a brand new feature on Skate and Annoy. The format of future episodes is bound to change as the kinks get worked out. Radical Moves was released in 1986. It’s basically an extended contest video of the 1986 World Expo in Vancouver, BC, presented as a drama. […]

Ebay Watch: May – June 2015

Editor’s Note: This one goes out to Steve From Jersey who sent in some old English skate mags unsolicited. Thanks! – Kilwag. (P.S. Drop me an email, please.) So welcome everybody to the new bay watch, covering the months of May-June 2015. It was a weird period, and a period that cemented some things that […]

ebay Watch: August 2011

So, welcome to eBayWatch, August 2011 edition. August was a fun month, with a lot of great looking decks going for some big cash, but the major talking point was probably the Grosso. I tried to show a greater variety of 70s decks this month, and I’m also pretty happy with the 90s selection that […]

eBay Watch: June 2011

So, welcome to episode #101 of eBayWatch, or episode #99, depending on how you’re counting! June didn’t quite explode as I hoped it would, but still there are some great decks that came up this month and I think you’ll enjoy it. We had lots of decks that broke the $1000 barrier in both the […]

eBay Watch: January 2011

January was a fun month overall. Normally we get the post Xmas letdown in January because everybody is all spent up, but not this year. We got plenty of high priced decks in every category with a number of decks going for over $2000. Alva decks of every description were going super high, and we had a couple of classic Chinese rip-off graphics. Plus a great selection of bargain decks too.

eBay Watch: June 2010

I want to start off this month by addressing something that’s been on my mind for some time, and it might piss some people off, but it needs to be said. I want to look at two of the “older generation” skateboard magazines, Concrete Wave and Juice. I’ve been getting both for years and years, […]

eBay Watch: October 2009

So October 2009 was a big one. If this was anything to go by, then we can say that the downtown is over, at least in regards to the pocketbooks of serious skate collectors! Lots of stuff went for over $1000, and some went far higher than that. What do some of our big spenders […]

eBay Watch: February 2009

February 2009. Much as in January, the economy might suck, but you wouldn’t know it on eBay. There were some BIG auctions that went off this month, and a lot of cash thrown around. Tax refunds really come to bear at this time of month, with collectors throwing their “free money” at any grails that […]

eBay Watch: June 2008

eBay is like a yoyo. Prices were high in April, way down in May, but they completely rebounded in June. In a very big way. So let’s see. Tax rebates in April, nothing in May, Government Stimulus Checks in June. Is it really that obvious? Apparently yes. So if my reckoning is right, prices will […]

eBay Watch: May 2008

Well, the boom had to end sometime, and end it did in May. I guess those tax refunds dried up, because deck sales tanked, and when I say tanked, I mean big-time. I only counted seven decks that went for over a thousand dollars in May, and as a regular reader of this column you’ll […]
