Dirt’s Living Room
Here’s a sneak peak of an Elias Parise project documenting DIY action in the Pacific Northwest. From the tone of this clip it seems to be more conversational instead of heavy handed and dramatic, so you can set your docu-phobia aside. Think Fruit of the Vine instead of Dogtown and Z-Boys.
The History of Skateboarding in 2 Minutes
Guido Sty Rizzone made edited footage and photos to show the history of skateboarding in 2 minutes, and did a good job. Go ahead, you’ve only got 2 minutes to lose. – Thanks to Matthijs for a tip.
Hackett at Svitaks
Another good installment of 7 Seconds at Svitak’s, this time with Dave Hackett. He’s only three episodes in and already lost an expensive wide angle lens to to Hackett’s mini ramp assault. It was Dave’s 52nd birthday, so Kristian probably cut him some slack. Brought to you by Regulator Distribution and 1031.
Hey daddyo, I don’t wanna go…
Down in the basement! Although if this was in my basement it would be a different story. Check out this incredibly tight (transitioned) mini bowl in Nate Latimer’s basement.
Betonhausen indoors
Betonhausen is A D.I.Y. spot in Berlin funded by c-list energy drink. (But really, is there anything as an grade A energy drink?) It has an outdoor part that looks like it served as the concrete college. Check it out. They’ve added an indoor part as well, 3 videos after the jump. The best video in the series is part two, which features the construction, including huge chunks of styrofoam sculpted in place and used instead of fill dirt.
Pier Park Polar Bears
From Elias Parise: Willis, Andy, Mark and Lorenzo getting it at Pier and Unheard, during one of the weirdest and coldest weeks of the year. 12.28.12-01.01.13 How thoughtful, a skate session on my birthday! Oh wait, I wasn’t invited. That’s OK, I would have stunk up the video. A little Unheard facility footage too. Music by Ghost Alien.
Danny Tumia for Landshark
Pacific Park in Vancouver, Washington is so close, but I always forget it’s there. Here’s a video from Landshark Wheels featuring two Northwest rippers, Danny Tumia and Mudhoney (via the soundtrack.) The song is “Sonic Infusion” from the album “Since We’ve Become Translucent.” Check out the recently released Mudhoney documentary I’m Now. The Midwest and Pacific Northwest. Two great tastes that go together.
Happy New Year!
Yes, a retread of last lear’s video, but let’s not take that as foreshadowing this year’s content. Lots of exciting things planned for 2013, this time I mean it! Thank you for reading Skate and Annoy! http://youtu.be/WRNhx6nC4GM
Firefly
JamCopters are high end platforms for building radio controlled helicopters with cameras. Both the copters and the filmmaker Jan Minol of Samadhi Production come from the Czech Republic, and yet no Marek Litinsiky… To me the “making of” video is more interesting than the Firefly final edit, but there are breathtaking shots in both versions. Definitely some post processing noticeable, but I don’t think that takes much away form the end product. There are a couple people here in the Northwest dabbling in helicopter cams with skateboarding as well. (Exhibit A, B, and C) LED’s skateboarding and helicopters after the jump. [Source: Hypebeast]
