RipCity trailer
Latest trailer for a proposed Portland skateboarding documentary series by Rick Coyle and Milan Spasic. That’s Jay Smay as the Feral Kid and me in the red shirt.
Holiday classics: The Nutcracker
This poor kid may never be able to get wood again. Watch a skateboarding version of the Holiday classic, The Nutcracker after the jump. While you’re at it you can watch another kid narrowly and repeatedly avoid cracking his skull while attempting to skateboard on ice covered ramps and asphalt.
GVK#26: Skate Race 3000
So here is a little game I like to call Skate Race. I am the best. Here are the three reasons. 1) Because I thought of it. 2) I am undefeated. 3) You are afraid to challenge me. “So go sell your ice cream on the other side of the street”. Out Grover.
Hurricane Kwak strikes
Speaking of the S-Board, there’s also a thing called the Hurricane Board that appears to be trying to avoid patent infringement by switching the rotating connection link in the center into a wiggly spring instead. I say “appears” becasue the web site looks like it has had all the content removed. The “inventor” is a Virginian named No Un Kwak who may not know Kang Sin-ki, but I’m sure he’s seen his work. For some reason, the YouTube videos have embedding disabled. Silly Kwak.
Mountain s-boarding with MC
If I didn’t know any better I’d say that was our own MC in that still shot from the S-Board news page above. S-Board is proud to introduce you to the all new exclusive S-Board AT!!!. This latest member of the S-Board family offers you all the S-Board’s flexibility without the limitations of needing a smooth surface. The S-Board AT has been designed and manufactured in the UK by S-Board Ltd. Check out the new video in the All Terrain section and see what you could achieve. More extreme wacky skateboards after the jump.
While you were out
So this little video is making the rounds pretty quickly. MC said he saw it on Skate Daily but I can’t find the link. (Yes I can.) I don’t know if it’s real or not, there are a couple spots where it looks fishy and at least one frame grab I made appeared to be missing the skater when he should have been visible. It’s hard to tell because you can do some damn good fakes nowadays with a cheap computer. If it isn’t fake then someone managed to capture good goof and one great one in a short time span. Update: Most likely fake as it was used in a Sprite advertisement. Unfortunately I only saw edited versions before making the post. Thanks JB.
Stouffer your face
Since most of our readers are likely stuffing thier faces today, here’s a Stouffer Pizza Bread commercial circa 2002 that features a fresh faced young man who likes to walk around his kitchen fully padded up. The producers probably made sure the kid was wearing full safety gear for liability purposes or at least to set a good example. I guess they overlooked the part about skating down the middle of the street while trying to balance and eat a giant wad of pizza bread. Anybody know who this kid is?
Alyssa Milano and Colin McKay
Alyssa Milano and Colin McKay for 1 800 Collect circa 2002, captured on glorious VHS (how barbaric!) and transferred to mini DV. Now it’s on YouTube, the VHS equivalent… Who is the other guy? Shouldn’t be too hard to figure out, I mean how many black vert skaters are out there? Memorable quote: “You could remember that doing a goofy footed double fakie ollie grind.” Also features the obligatory I’m trying something crazy and I’m going to wipe out. Oh well, beats Carrot Top any day.
A dork session by any other name…
This “Shit Skate Gang” video is funny and has high production values, unlike some people. Actually, it reminds me of the Claus Grabke spoof. The theory is skateboarding has reached its peak. To stand out at your local skatepark you need to carve in a whole new direction. Join Gaylord Gaylord, Mudstain Thompson, and Lancelot Jenkins in the next biggest revolution in skateboarding since the Dogtown boys. Check it out. Thanks to Joesf for the tip.
Uh.. Barney skateboarding.
I caught this Cocoa Pebbles commercial with Barney skateboarding by accident. The transmission switched to another commercial before this one was actually finished, but I got most of it. If anybody has the full version, please let me know, because there isn’t enough coverage of Barneys skateboarding…
