GVK #58: PDX Dew Tour
Got this one out quick, results are just in And it goes like this. 1 S white 2 Bucky 3 PLG. The guys at the Dew Tour give me a pass every year. I wonder if they know I am not the real Media Director at Skate and Annoy. That’s the title I tell them I am branded with. I suppose it could be true I will have to check with Human Resources to be sure. This year I had the honor of being able to film practice here’s what I got. Oh yeah X-games gold medal winner Pedro qualified into the final and fell during practice and dislocated his elbow he did not ride the final. Arm in cast Vicodin in mouth. It was fun as hell to watch him practice. This contest always gets me so excited about Vert let’s build a ramp. GROVER OUT. UPDATE: The video is back, not quite sure why it disappeared.
Change of Guard
Juergen Horrwarth’s Change of Guard is a few old vert dogs hanging over a weekend with some up-and-comers in a chance to exchange tips and tricks. Who is Juergen Horrwarth? Well, he’s Juergen Horrwarth, German vert skater. If the triples action in the admittedly blurry screen capture above piques your interest, watch the short video after the jump.
SOTW 10-5-09: Jake Selover
This week’s Shot of the Week is Jake Selover putting the “tuck knee” in, uh, the tuck knee air out at his friend Dru’s vert ramp near Bend, Oregon. Yes, there is a vert scene in Bend, Oregon. The sign says “Next vert ramp 819 miles.” Check out the Shot of the Week.
SOTW 6-8-09: Barefoot night sessions
John Drummond sent in this beat up scan: I’ve been meaning to send you this picture. I thought you might consider it a “Shot of the week”. It’s a little grainy and scratched. It’s my buddy Chris Lowe in 1988 doing an Andrecht. This was kind of a common thing for him to do after a session. Take pads off, change clothes, and then mess around. Sometimes slides and stupid flat bottom stuff would turn into him busting a Madonna or an invert… barefoot, and in the dark. A little grainy and scratched? What makes you say that? Location: Moraga Ramp (Garry Mcleod’s). Check out the Shot of the Week.
