The This Is How We Soccer ad is about how AT&T supports soccer fans of all types, those who watch religiously, and those who “wear the jersey just for style club” AKA the posers! They’re standing in the middle of the flat taking selfies! Is that better or worse than using RC cars in the skate park? It’s fitting they chose A Seattle Sounders kit for one of the actors, total plastic fan base. SHOTS FIRED! It also features former US Women’s team legend Mia Hamm. HUGE NEWS that Lionel Messi is coming to MLS and joining Miami FC. How huge is it? Even the skateboarding sites are talking about it. OK, this one is at least. How bizarre is it that the world’s most famous sport celebrity is wearing a skateboard related shirt on TV during an interview? Well it turns out it’s a lot less bizarre than I thought, now that I’ve learned it’s a Louis Vuitton shirt that somehow slipped under the S&A radar. Let’s talk about how bizarre that is… Louis Vuitton designers capitalizing on a Tony Hawk / Berrics bit. I don’t know how much it cost when it was released but you can buy them on the collector’s market for around $1,500, or $20 on the knockoff market. Am I missing something? is there a reason they used the Icee bear typeface? Make your own if you want.

Sacramento Republic FC is making a (well deserved) push to get into Major League Soccer. One of the requirements for expansion teams is a soccer-specific stadium capable of seating 20,000 or more people. MLS, has been cagey about offering SRFC a franchise, but that hasn’t stopped them from promoting Built for Sacramento, a web site showcasing the proposed design for the new stadium. The video promo is eerily reminiscent of the city of Portland, with hipster barber shops, breweries, rabid soccer fans, two rivers intersecting, and yes, skateboarding. You can pretty much overdub “Portland” every time they say Sacramento and you might not notice, even with the visuals. Except of the weather.

Cheap fingerboards are a dime a dozen or in this case, $36 a dozen. The packaging on these cheap toys is worth more that the actual product. Fingerboards from China… I know. Who cares?
