UM YEAH FILMS Presents – “Cuatro Suenos Pequenos” (four small dreams) – A new skate film – Visual Audio Experiment by Thomas Campbell. This 21 minute movie was shot entirely on 16mm film in a dream scene scenario that blends reality, surreality and a skate adventure starring Javier Mendizabal and Madars Apse. This film captures Javier Brushing his teeth, slobbering on his pillow, bedding down with a beautiful brunette. Also Javi running into Madars Apse in his dream, they skate over volcano’s, thru the woods and into cities of Spain,The Canary Islands,Mallorca, The Basque country and California. This film has a completely original soundtrack by the critically acclaimed Basque super group “Chiwoks.” And besides the usual unusual camera perspectives you expect from a Thomas Campbell film. French Fred is also is on board Lending his iconic visual wizardry to this cauldron of the bizarre, beauty and gnar. And now you know as much about this project as I do. I had a hard time picking one still frame to represent this post, I would watch the trailer if I were you. This looks very interesting. They had a showing in Paris with the band who scored the music performing the soundtrack live.…
Blowing It
Blowing It starts off with a moving eight minute tribute fallen crew member Keita Farnsworth who died in 2012. The rest is dedicated to three years of good friends and good sessions. It’s amazing how many spots there are in the Oregon area. Watch Jake Arciniega Doug Weaver’s Blowing It after the jump.
Pier Park fly through
Helicopter cams are going to be the defining videography technique of skate videos in this decade, just like fisheye adapters were in.. when was that? The 90’s? Anyway. Rich over at EPM is developing an RC helicopter platform for the masses called Hooperfly. Rich shot some test footage at Pier Park yesterday, and well, here it is.

Extremely Sorry
I remember being extremely stoked on the first Sorry video, and then rather bored by the second one. Now it’s time for the third installment, “Extremely Sorry.” I though this was the Internet Age. I can’t believe they are still milking the franchise. It feels like Sorry came out at the beginning of the millennium, and it Almost did… Portland is having a premier on Friday the 9th at the Department: The new Flip video “EXTREMELY SORRY” will be premiering this Friday night October 9th at 8PM at The Dept. Normally this is when we would go into a brief synopsis of the video but if you don’t know that you should’ve been eagerly anticipating this video for the last 2 years than maybe you should stay home. The Flip team features the gnarliest skaters shredding the gnarliest array of terrain..street, vert, pools, mega ramps. As if that’s not enough, “EXTREMELY SORRY” also showcases the cinematic talents of OG Gresham Loc/Lifelong Pharmacy family member/3rd Westhusing brother/Friend to the entire PDX skate scene/Random Camera Surveillance Director Kurt Hayashi. Friend to the entire PDX skate scene? Holy cow, I skate and I need a friend. I want to meet Kurt Hayashi. I…
Psycho Skate – Vision – 1988
Psycho Skate from Vision Streetwear, circa 1988. This video is a good mix of Freestyle, Vert, and even some early Snowboarding. It seems like everything back in the late 80s was some sort of bright neon color. Do you remember color-changing shirts? More after the jump.
Real to Reel – Real – 2001
Real to Reel from Real Skateboards, circa 2001. This video is Real’s third offering, and its definitely not their best. Some of the parts of this video lack creativity. Its the same old standard of single trick lines, cut up on the editing floor. Not to say there isn’t some really sick skating. The Gonz is in the video, which is the main reason I’m even posting it! There are only so many skaters out there that I can watch the same video parts over and over again and never tire of it. The Gonz is one of these people. J.T. Aultz stands out for sure, and I always enjoy watching Max Schaaf busting some gigantic airs. Featured Skaters: J.T. Aultz, Damian Bravo, Dennis Busenitz, Matt Field, Cairo Foster, Mark Gonzales, Keith Hufnagel, Nathan Jones, Phil Mackie, and Max Schaaf. run time: 29 min 24 sec – Check it Out
Super Champion Fun Zone – Four Star – 2005
This video follows the Four Star team on a two week tour of Tokyo, Japan. Four Star has some of the best skaters, and of course the Gonz is there, which makes the video that much better. Throughout the entire video he is riding that land barge of a board. This is definitely one of the better videos to come out during 2005. It gets the fire burning below to get out and skate. Featured Skaters: Brian Anderson, Mike Carroll, Mark Gonzales, Rick Howard, Eric Koston, P.J. Ladd, Guy Mariano, and Max Schaaf. Run time: 36 min 59 sec – Check it out.
