Dirt’s Living Room
Here’s a sneak peak of an Elias Parise project documenting DIY action in the Pacific Northwest. From the tone of this clip it seems to be more conversational instead of heavy handed and dramatic, so you can set your docu-phobia aside. Think Fruit of the Vine instead of Dogtown and Z-Boys.
Sedro-Woolley Bully
There’s a new skatepark opening about an hour and some change north of Seattle in a town called Sedro-Woolley. The grand opening is Saturday October 13, 2012. Hey wait, that was two days ago! There’s a facebook page a grainy webcam. Who built this? There’s a Grindline shirt in one of the photos. Lots of construction shots in extended interval time lapse formatfrom Bob Rock. – Thanks to John Aguilar for the (late) tip.
SOTW 9-4-12: Cheers to Orcas Island
This week’s Shot of the Week is from Elias Parise, featuring Andy Adams with a backside nosegrab and Lorenzo Martinez toasting the action with what I’m sure is some sort of natural fruit soda in a bottle that he packed out out. Leave the spot cleaner than you found it folks. Orcas is one of my favorite parks but I haven’t been there sine my kids were born. I need to rectify that. Reports are that it’s still holding up, but is in need of a few minor repairs, and a coping block or two.
Oregon Fecta 2012
The days of the three event Oregon stop on the World Cup tour appear to be over. We’re holding steady at one official event again. This time at Pier Park on Saturday, with unofficial events in Lincoln City on Friday and Portland on Sunday. Saturday will also be a fundraiser of some sort for repairs at Pier Park, thanks to some dingholes who burned a couch in the bowl. Fundraising details are fuzzy, but the schedule of events are up on the web site.
