More 2nd Party Trifecta pics
Here’s some more Lincoln City Trifecta pictures from Colin Walsh. What’s going on in that dumpster? The skull candy dudes put a post up somewhere claiming there were goodies in the trash, one person jumped in and scored some headphones, seconds latter every child under the age of 15 was knee deep in everyones trash hunting for goodies, some kid even got a complete out of the trash, some left with prizes others were not as lucky and probably contracted HEP C. Thanks again to Colin Walsh. Check out the pics after the jump.
Second party Trifecta coverage
I wasn’t able to make it to the Trifecata this year for the first time in… holy cow, I was there for seven years in a row. So not a bad run, yet I still felt guilty. Fortunately, the Trifecta somehow managed to go on without me, and Colin Walsh (Rules) was there in Lincoln City with his camera and sent some pictures in. If you want third pary trifecta coverage, EPM is doling out now. This is part one of the installment, more to come. Thanks Colin.
Oregon Trifecta Live (Cross your fingers)
You can watch the Oregon Trifecta live on the Go211 webcast, in theory at least. Every time I tried to watch yesterday it was down.
Stop skating here
Not enough to put a raised ridge in the middle of the bank, they had to put a fence up too. Tennis courts next to Grant High School in Portland. The TMR crew wuz there.
Oregon Trifecta
Hey wow, I’ve got a tone of photos from the 2009 leg of Pier Park that I never put up. I had the second page almost ready to go with a third one in progress. I combined them, did some minor clean up, forget about any names, no time, no memory. Is the Oregon Trifecta still on for 2010? The official web site looks like the internet equivalent of an abandoned house, but I thought I heard Choppy on the mic during the best trick contest at the Dew Tour. I talked to Don Bostick and he said it was still on. I mentioned the abandoned web property and he mumbled something about Choppy having fundraising problems. I have to paint my house this weekend. SOTW 8-16-10: Andy Macdonald at Pier Park
Going over the mouse hole in Pier Park is pretty gnarly. Andy Macdonald made it over in his first try this year, I assume he made it over last year too. Andy took some video with a helmet cam for those of us who will likely never see the view from up there. Once you get to the point where it’s no sweat to make it over frontside or backside, what else is there? How about this frontside boardslide over the top? Steve Grover captured it with his point and shoot. Watch the video after the jump or check out the full size Shot of the Week. UPDATE: Alternate views now available over on Earth Patrol Media.
B.S.S.S.S
It stands for Brooklyn Street Skate Spot Shots, what else? Super funs spot. Easy to ride, but the tech guys can get all techy if they want. There is no drama with opposing build crews, just a miscommunication is all. On Saturday they raised over $150 bucks. I’m lobbying for a runway on the other side of the volcano so goofy footers can hit it frontside easier. Fun for all ages. Way to go guys.

Brooklyn St Skate Spot benefit
Meanwhile, closer to home. There’s a benefit BBQ this Saturday the 7th for the Brooklyn Street Skate Spot in Portland. I have to admit I chuckled when I first heard there was a benefit for this tiny spot. This picture is old, actually, but I just heard they’ve hit a snag. The original organizers were engaging the community, taking it somewhat slow. Apparently some individuals decided to kick it into overdrive without scoping out the situation, allegedly tearing up sidewalks (?) and as a result the cops (who were already in the loop) shut it down and the whole thing needs permits now. Pretty much all of the neighbors are on board except for one business owner, who appears to prefer broken glass, garbage and the occasional syringe to pastoral scenes like a mother reading a book on the steps while her son skates, nearly a week after the spot first appeared. True story. Flyer after the jump. No alcohol please, they’re trying to present a positive image to the neighbors and the city.
