Hey kids, remember the Morfboard, Morfboard 2, and Morfboard copiers like the Flybar? Well you can add the Switchboard to that esteemed group of wacky boards, and this one might be best engineered version yet. It’s one skateboard with special mounting plates that allow you to swap out trucks and accessories in a snap. Is it necessary? Maybe. Is it possible? Yes! Who is it made by? Switchboard! But is it this Switchboard? Possibly. The logo is different and the product is conspicuously absent from the skateboard training products section and skateboard trucks section, so who knows. Introducing the Flybar 3-in-1 Skate Trainer, a less elegant version of a concept we’ve seen once or twice before, but hey, it’s been almost 10 years since the original product appeared, and almost 5 since it apparently failed, because you can’t find these for sale anymore and the domain name has expired. This version may look like it exists in renders only, but it’s a real product that you can buy at places like Walmart. In a paradigm shifting development in the multi-use board industry, Flybar adds stationary trucks for ollie training. Hardcore scooter and bouncing enthusiasts may find this a deal breaker. If you’re familiar with the Flybar brand, chances are you’ve seen or used one of their many bumper cars, animal hoppers, hopper balls, “antsy pants” systems, scooters, swurfers, pogo sticks or even pogo stick trainers. Well, it’s been a few years since the original Morfboard, and now the product has pivoted from a health and fitness based system with skateboarding as a small feature to a completely skateboard-centric approach. Gone is the geometric wakeboard-esque oval, as well as the elastic resistance straps and the links. It’s been replaced with a traditional skateboard deck while still retaining the swappable units allowing you to configure the morfboard into a skateboard, scooter, balance board, and pointless bouncy board. They’re even running TV commercials for it, and it’s shown up at local Costcos as wells the Home shopping Network of all places.

The Morfboard is supposed to make working out and exercising more fun. One board with a bunch of attachments you can swap in and out to configure it as a balance board, one of those bouncy boards, some sort of random piece of thing that you attach bungie cords, and of course, the reason you’re seeing on this site, a skateboard. You can use it as skateboard, and you can also use it for skateboard yoga. Yes, that is a thing. MorfBoards appear to be very well designed and constructed, but I’m curious how stiff those truck circle mounts are. This concept makes sense if your apartment is one of those Japanese capsule motels but otherwise I’m not so sure. That does not stop me from coveting the MorfBoard, for then I would truly be a king.
