BCSA Call For Art!
The Benton County Skateboarding Alliance (BCSA) is hosting the 5th annual Art & Music Benefit to raise money for improvements to the Eric Scott McKinley Skate Park in Corvallis. We have over $13,500 of the $75,000 to $90,000 needed for the first phase—(a 3,000 sq ft skate bowl). Additional phases include: advanced street terrain, Eric Scott McKinley memorial, and improved family facilities (seating, BBQs, etc). All media is accepted; Art must be ready to hang or display. The BCSA is inviting available local artists to help hang art and work the art show (arrangements must be made in advance). Artists that help with the show may get up to 60% of the proceeds from their art sales otherwise artists are asked donate at least 60% of their art sales to the skate park fund. Space may be limited so the BCSA may have to limit the number of pieces accepted. Thank you for your interest in this event. The show is planned for June 02, 2012 at the Corvallis Elks Lodge. The deadline for art submissions is May 12, 2012. For more information, contact the BCSA: bcskateboardingalliance@gmail.com I threaten to go to this every year, but they won’t sign my…
Random BCSA post
This is a Colin Walsh (Rules) picture of Brian Summer at the Corvallis park, making it look good. What’s the point? Well to annoy Carl with another skatepark shot and to remind everyone about the BCSA call for art. Video highlights of last year’s benefit event after the jump.
BCSA Call for art
The Benton County Skateboarding Alliance is looking art to show and sell at the forth Annual Art & Music Benefit to raise money to improve the Eric Scott McKinley Skatepark in Corvallis, OR. They’re currently raised about 10% of their 90k goal, so there’s a ways to go. I’m pleased to say that I’m already prepared to send a few things.
Tommy McGuigan memorial pics
The Benton County Skateboard Alliance was kind enough to send over some pictures from Saturday’s Tommy McGuigan memorial challenge AKA Dawn of the Shred. Looks like it was a good time. Check it out after the jump. UPDATE: I didn’t realize these were from (drumroll please…) Colin Walsh. I’ll have to change the copyright info.

Two towns. Two videos
I’m watching this first video by “Jimmy” that looks like it takes palce in Corvallis and an Harrisburg, Oregon, And I’m thinking, Damn! That’s the scene to be in. What do those guys need help with a skatepark for? Just kidding about the skatepark thing there BCSA, but your locals are tearing it up! The second video was shot at Pier Park by KC, and aside from Thomas shown in the bottom still shot, it mainly features Shane Bell, who looks like he has recovered from his bone break in his leg about a year ago.
BCSA Art and Music benefit show March 13th
BCSA ART & MUSIC 2010 at the Vue, 517 SW 2nd St, Corvallis, OR on March 13. All proceeds from the silent auctions go towards the Eric Scott McKinley Skatepark improvements. Contact the BCSA for more information (bcskateboardingalliance@gmail.com). My lame ass will be in the Seattle burbs this weekend. On top of that, I didn’t get my art done in time. However, I did take five minutes out of my busy life to make this post, so I care… a little. (Next year for sure!) I believe MC is going to make good though.
