Yo mamma
Sigmund Freud in a “Yo Mamma” battle in this comic by R.E. Parrish. What’s the latent significance of doing street plants? – Via Gabe Stoltz on FB
Zippy and Trixie
Tis the season for toy dogs on skateboards. Zippy is part of the Happy’s [sic] and as such, runs on “happy power” which makes me think he’s a hippy. He even skates a little in a TV commercial that is really abrasive to watch. Don’t say I din’t warn you. I wonder if the real Zippy has appeared on the skateboard. (The answer is yes. Keep reading.) Then there’s Trixie. She’s part of the Fur Real Friends gang and is not Happy Powered, thus needing batteries. – Thanks to Mike DeFord for the photos.
Kids Scoop!
It’s the September 13th, 2009 edition of Kids Scoop, which focuses on skateboarding. This is another buried treasure that was in the box that Danimal gave me with the kids braille skateboarding book. Lots of safety advice and fun activity after the jump, including the Great Skateboard Debate! No agendas at all, so wake up the kids and call Grandma.
Psychic… Powerless…
last Monday we had a rude awakening with Off!. So it is in that tradition that I present this cartoon and apologize for greeting you with part of a Buthole Surfer’s album title. I guess that really wasn’t a way to make it any more palatable. The cartoon was found on an image aggregating site with no credits or source. It looks like it came from an adult magazine. Perhaps it was scanned by someone who lures less skillful players into competing against them at a gambling game. I thought I might have posted it already, since I remember seeing it quite a while back, but I couldn’t find it here on S&A. So the gag is, old people acting like teenagers! Hilarious.
Reflections in a mirror
Another Tony Hawk refernce in a comic, this time in a strip called xkcd, which I wrote off based on this one strip, but is actually a pretty good comic with pretty bad art. – Thanks to Stephen B for the tip.
Maggot’s kid brother
From Max Schaaf’s 4Q Conditioning. The original source is not credited, but it looks like some sort of paperback book aimed at motorcycle riders in the 70’s.
