Bob Burnquist has World Cup Fever
This video made slightly more sense once I remembered Bob was from Brazil, slightly.
Burnquist’s backyard helicopter antics
Danny way dropped in off that helicopter in a different decade, so it’s not the first time, but Bob has taken the helicopter thing a step further, also using it as his personal tow-in rope. It’s pretty amazing as far as mega ramp action goes, but there are a couple times when I’m actually more impressed by the pilot in the helicopter. The helicopter doesn’t make an appearance until the last quarter of the video, and the rest is filled with typically high skilled skating that you’d expect from Bob Burnquist. It’s part of a series he’s making called “The Dreamland Series.” – Thanks to Simon Woodstock for the tip.
Always surfing
“I know it may sound absurd, but I dig the challenge.” No, not a direct quote from Bob Burnquist after his Simon Woodstock-esque stunt (turned up to a Spinal Tap 11…) Looks like a wakeboard mounted up on trucks which we’ve seen before, but not on the Megaramp in the rain for the love of Thor. Simon set his up like a regular skateboard, Bob’s setup looks a little like a longrider. Then again, Simon wasn’t dropping in on an 18″ or more of transition in the rain. Speaking of Simon, he seemed to be gearing up for getting back in the public world of skateboarding again, but then he suddenly disappeared again. Name the band I’ve sideways referenced and win a noprize, no fair using Google. [Source: Seventysixers]
Bob Burnquist for Prius
Bob Burnquist with a sneak peak of the 2011 Toyata Prius. Honda, if you’re listening, I’ll gladly make a commercial in exchange for a Civic, Fit, motorcycle, lawn mower, boat engine or generator. I guess I’d even take a plane. [Source: Skate Curiosidade]
Megaramp hijinks
Even at 120 FPS, I’m still not sure what happened here, but Bob Burnquist is not bailing. Check it out after the jump. – Thanks to Neal Hendrix for the tip, via Facebook.
Friday T&A on S&A: The Burnquist Samba
From the sketchy translation I got, this was at some mega ramp event that ended a week long celebration the history of skateboarding in Brazil, or not. For our purposes, it’s Bob Burnquist and Jake Brown (back turned) dancing with some socially and culturally acceptable scantily clad Carnaval-type gals on the mega ramp in Brazil, thanks to the web site Skatecultura.
