Fortunately, there is some marginal skateboard related footage in here so I can present it here on S&A without making excuses… except I just did. It’s a trailer for the 30 minute extended version of “Fight For Your Right Revisited.” The Beastie Boys have a forthcoming release called Hot Sauce Committee Part Two which is good news but holy shit, watch this trailer! Try to count all the cameos without getting whiplash, I dare you. I don’t want to spoil Neil’s next eBay Watch, but a Beastie Boys deck recently went for a ridiculous amount of money. There’s a buzz already. Er, uhm… check it. Did anyone catch Iggy Pop on American Idol last night?

Here’s 1986 video for Hold It Now, Hit It that I’ve actually never seen before. Ad Rock is rocking what looks like an Uncle Wiggly board, unless Neil can correct me before this goes live. Please note, we’ve covered the existence of a later era Beastie Boys skateboard, although I could use a better picture. For the record, if that’s not an Uncle Wiggly, my second choice is Schmitt Stix. I am too lazy to go don in my basement and look through my copy of Disposable. As promised, more skateboard hygiene products. I first came across this on the old Grand Royale site, the magazine and record label that used to be run by the Beastie Boys. This was back in 2000 or so, and the fact that this skateboard shaped container existed out there somewhere had been in the back of mind since then. They didn’t have any explanation, just the picture, so I downloaded it. Earlier this year I was doing some “research” for Skate and Annoy and I stumbled on one for sale. Turns out it was from Avon, and contains bubble bath. I picked this one up for about 7$. Totally worth it.

There’s an article being recycled by different newspapers about how a rap act know as The Pack is helping the worlds of skateboarding and hip hop come together, as if that is something new. The research department only went back a couple of years because completely absent from the article are such bands as the Beastie Boys, Urban Dance Squad and oh, I don’t know, who else but Skatemaster Tate, a guy who based his whole schtick on it back in the late 80’s. That’s Tate above hosting Nickelodeon’s SK8 TV with Mathew Lillard. Bottom right is a shot from a video shoot for The Pack’s new EP Skateboards 2 Scrapers.
