Skate and Annoy: Daily
Merry Christmas from China
A random sample of email I get form companies in China trying to sell me skateboards. I thought I had posted this before but it didn’t show up when I searched for Elephant. The “blog” section of Skate and Annoy has been running for about 10 years now… it’s hard to keep track of this stuff. Nothing says Christmas like an elephant jumping over the great wall of China on a plastic skateboard.
Stay Fresh Pony Boy
Stay Fresh Air Enhancements has some skateboard imagery in their line up of auto air fresheners. They have traditional scents like cherry, Piña Colada, and sandalwood, and in the case of the Fred Smith “Loud Ones” logo, something called Blood, Sweat, and Beers. The only thing missing from this line up is a set of double capped Pro-designs with leopard skin spandex that smells like pad-rot.
With the goo, goo, googly eyes
Barney Google, he had a wife and couldn’t keep her… maybe because he bought her one of these Minions branded skateboards with built in googly eyes. Yes, the eyes inset on the top of the deck wobble around. I can imagine kids crashing into all sorts of obstacles while trying to skate and watch the eyes move around. Excellent idea!
Football Season is Over
Whenever I’m designing a custom football scarf for my favorite team, I make sure to check out the available clip art options, which for some reason include a skateboard. Ouch! Mein Text!
Hole in your quiver? Last minute X-mas gift?
On the off chance you’re looking to pick up a 16 wheel skateboard and a built to fit quad post jam, you’re in luck if you’re in the San Diego area, you can pick this up from Simon Woodstock on Craigslist.
Globe Speaker Board = Nash Sound Board 2.0
Globe updates the Nash Jammin Sound Board as a bluetooth speaker instead of an AM radio. This isn’t even the second skateboard with speakers in it. Remember the Chargeboard, the electric skateboard with speakers and a USB port? Globe’s version more closely resembles the Sound Board because it also has a top mounted speaker, and with the aid of bluetooth, acts more like a radio receiving audio transmission from your phone instead of requiring the phone to be plugged into the the bottom of the skateboard. Globe Speaker Boards are complete skateboards paired with Boombotix hardware. The speakers are supposed to be ruggedized and water resistant. This kind of thing is mildly amusing. I’d never buy one (but of course I’d be happy to accept a review unit!) Imagine getting an incoming call while cruising the gnar. [Source: Transworld]
Rose Siggens Legless Suzi Pro Model
Actress Rose Siggens who played “Legless Suzi” in “American Horror Story: Freak Show,” died over the weekend. The picture above is from an American Horror Story screening in LA. Rose is the only one with a skateboard from that shoot, and she must have really liked it because it was the first picture on her website at the time of this post. UPDATE: Looks like she used it for transportation. [ Source: CNN ] – Thanks to Steve Spurlock for the tip.

Silver Surfer Lands in London
The Silver Surfer has landed in London, which means Galactus can’t be far behind. I’m not going to lie to you, it looks bad for humanity. I hope the Silver Surfer is able to save us, and maybe afterwards he can get hooked up with a better filter. Silver but shots galore in the vid after the jump.
Alley Oop Holiday
This blown glass Christmas ornament was made in Poland for a company called Radko. I’m not sure when it was made, but it’s model number is 1014187, and a random sample of a 2015 model is 1017693. The seller says it was retired, but it doesn’t turn up under it’s official name of “Alley Oop Holiday” anywhere on the latest web site, including the retired ornaments. The original domain name was registered in 1996, and the last update (at this time) was 2013. I only mention this because the domain name on the hangtag appears to belong to someone else now. I’m sure nobody cares about this. Let it go… and look at the pictures of a tiny skateboarder riding a gigantic skateboard.
