Spot check: NE Portland
Jake Ferranti sent a few shots of a cool spot in NE Portland: I was with a friend roaming the NE portland area when we came upon a couple fun banks. One alongside a yard, homeowner was cool as hell and she let us ride as long as we wanted. It needs edging tho but we made do. Looks fun to me. I can’t believe I’ve never seen this. Yes I can. There are spots like this hidden all over. Don’t ask me, I haven’t been there… yet.
Blowing out spots for Bobcat
Spot check, Seattle. John Aguilar sent these in. It’s near the Bell Street Pier in the Port of Seattle. He said the street view from Google Maps was better than his shots. You can be the judge after the jump. Looks like a rad spot.
Spot Check: Anchorage Alaska
Tom Miller sent this shot from his recent trip to Anchorage, Alaska. Props to the Samoans (non-angry) for building a skateable wall in front of their church, as the Samoan-constructed walls in PDX aren’t so skateable. Insert Sarah Palin joke here.
No skatestoppers yet
My brother was in the Bay Area last week and snapped the wall famously featured in the Bryce Kanights photo of Mark Gonzales. He didn’t have a skateboard with him.
Spot Check: Vancouver B.C. bank
John Aguilar sent in some pictures of a large bank he happened on while doing the tourist thing with his wife in Vancouver B.C..

House of Neil has some shots of a massive drainage ditch at Kahalui airport on Maui that came up in reader comments a week ago. No action shots, just landscapes.
Blowing out the Canby skatepark
Finally checked out Canby skatepark yesterday. It was a nice afternoon and the locals were ripping. It’s all small and kinky and I didn’t stay long but it seemed like it could be fun.
Northern Virginia spot check
East coast reader John Egerston sent in a few pictures from a semi-recent spot tour in northern Virgina. Roots = Two ditches and a full pipe. Photos by Mike Alexander.
But he never hurt nobody
…He just loved to live that way. And he loved to steal your money. Can you blow out a spot across the street from the Police station? Battle Ground, Washington has more interesting terrain than just a skatepark going for it.
