Smokey Bones BFFs
Smokey Bones Bar & FIre Grill seems completely at odds with the kids menu that John Egertson picked up. There are jiggle girls and bunny suits over on that dot com. Meanwhile, the kid’s menu looks like it was farmed out overseas. Not just the character style, but the text too. Man, what a find this one is though. Its… it’s… perfect.
Random Swedish wall ride
Or not. It seems like I’ve seen this terrain before, I’m thinking France, but I’m not certain. In the still it looks super steep, but the motion of the rider looks smooth. Haven’t heard from the Puehse Twins lately, wonder what they’re up to? Making movies that I’m going to have to hide from my kids because if they ever see this, I’m going to have to watch it 100 times. That’s right. Stick anything on a skateboard to make it look cool, hip, young, and dare I say… EXTREME! So extreme that a mere cell phone camera couldn’t quite capture this Dole banana box without a blur. – Thanks to John Aguilar for the snap.
Nikon knows the market
I’m in the market for a new digital camera, specifically a Nikon because that’s what my lenses are leftover from my now defunct D70, which has suffered a fatal casualty in the memory card reading connection. Repairs cost about exactly what the body goes for used on eBay. When I went to the Nikon USA web site to price the current lineup, I noticed this skateboard shot gracing the front page of the web site. They have a randomizer selecting from a pool of images, so this one might not be prominently displayed, but you should see it flash briefly regardless. Hey Nikon, check out those nice, big new banner ads… – Tip of the hat to Orezona, what’s up?
WIll it jive jibe with your karma?
I really like Built to Shred, but I’m surprised by this “Will it shred?” video. I’m not sure how “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle” jives with destroying a brand new $500 consumer electronic device for three minutes of video promotion. Still, it’s amusing, and you’re reading about it, so it was a good business decision even if it directly contradicts the central tenet of the show. Read the fine print on the professional rider disclaimer before you set up your own iPad as a skateboard.
Skate 3 TV commercial
I happened to catch this commercial on TV about an hour after the behind the scenes Spohn Ranch footage of the shoot was pulled from YouTube. My guess it the folks at EA didn’t want it detracting from the original, or something vague like that. – Thanks to Vince for the tip.
They Trademarked Extreme Fun
Well, Xtreme Fun anyway. Maybe someone already trademarked “Extreme Fun.” Blastems have a great name that could only be made better by adding the word “sugar” in front of it. However, it isn’t going to happen, because It’s a healthy-ish, or something like that.
