Pier Park Opening Video
Yes kids, it’s time for another fake installment of Grover’s Video Korner, where we spell quality with a “K” and a smile. This week we’ve got Pier Park opening day video as seen on two TV news channels. Watch Rebel’s Jay Smay completely forget about the existence of Burnside on camera. This link comes to us from Earth Patrol Media’s YouTube Tuesday where we usually poach our videos. Except this time it’s our upload that he poached from us before we linked to it. So we are poaching ourselves recursively, which should allow us to go back in time and purchase a bunch of NOS Natas boards and sell them on eBay for a fortune. Also included is Gar’s video from opening day with decidedly less awkward slang from news anchors. At the end you can see me taking this shot. Too bad I couldn’t focus. Last but not least, there’s a clip on the Antigravity Press site.
Tualatin Full Pipe
On the way back from Newberg Saturday, Peter, Ian, and myself decided to go check out the Tualatin Park to see if it was crowded, or not. It was, so we decided to head for these two different sets of banks by my house. On the way there, I remembered these little pipes we found a couple of years ago.
Carpet Boards Fun For Entire Family
Seriously, kids love these things. Well, I can’t speak for your kid, because I don’t know your kid. Anyway, my kid seems to like this carpet board for about 15-30 minutes a day. They are really easy to make.
Beaverton Man Assaults NW PDX Bank to Wall
It’s true, I was there. His name was Jason Beaudry and he was assaulting that bank to wall with some wallrides. First, he started with a normal backside wallride. Oh yeah, get your bs wallride as high as you can and then move on to another trick.
Skull PD’s Turns 30. Designs a Shoe
Skull Skates is not the exact same thing as PD’s Hot shop, but they are close enough. So Canada’s longest running skate shop turns 30, which is quite a milestone considering most skate shops last three years at best. These guys have made it to 30, and for 28 of those years Skull Skates has been running too. They are throwing a party to celebrate, along with the launch of the first ever Skull Skates designed shoe in colaboration with C1RCA. You’re probably not invited. Where’s the shoe? I don’t see it.
Conspiracy Saikou Video
Conspiracy has a new video out titled Saikou. Yeah, I don’t know what it means either, but we’ve got a review.
Another Houlie Ghoulie Head
Posting the Didjits Houlie Ghoulie head reminded me that I had another skull issue to deal with. Sometimes something is so ugly that it becomes a thing of beauty.
Andy Wissman, Where Are you?
This Flickr thing is… another great way to waste time. This kid Any Wissman has a couple of cool skate photos posted there. I googled him to see if I could find a web site or something, and found his myspace page. (Nice self portrait!) Problem with all these so-called free Interweb communities and services is that they require you to jump through a bunch of hoops to contact people. You have to join, and that means another password combo to remember. Forget about retrieving it if you use fake info like I usually do. Oh well. Andy, if you are reading this and have some more photos like these, I’d like to put up a small feature on Skate And Annoy if you are down.
Hot, Wet, Deathbox Action!
Frontside laybacks just like you like ’em baby. This one’s for Thor. Directions to this pool and another pic after the jump.
