SOTW 5/31/10: South Africa
This week’s Shot of the Week is an excuse to link to Michael Goetz’ gallery of skate photos from his ongoing residence in South Africa. He’s been there for about five months. Aside from visiting family, he’s working on planning the first bowl in Cape Town. Check out his South Africa gallery, or head on down to the Shot of the Week.
SOTW 5-24-10: Sicily
This week’s Shot of the Week is from Helmut at Surfside-Boardshop in Palermo, Italy. His friend Alessandro wrote: In Sicily the guys have discovered a huge estate seized to an arrested mafia boss, the fact is that this estate has got something in between a ditch and a pool, and they step in there to skate it, i find this very rad, the action is not out of danger, it could actually always come some affiliates to get them under stress, or maybe no, this nobody knows, the cool thing is that the place is quite hidden so is not easy to find… It’s vaguely reminiscent of the Tea Bowls. Check out the Shot of the Week then see some extras after the jump.
Shot of the Week: Paris and Pleasure in New Orleans
Some people don’t have time to bicker about scooters. They’ve got places to go and future sessions to build. Joey O’Mahoney writes in from New Orleans: Near the intersection of Paris and Pleasure. Check out the Shot of the Week. Bonus shots after the jump.

SOTW 2-15-10: Wasteland R.I.P.
Well that’s what I get for sitting on my hands. I had planned a little photo feature of the D.I.Y. project known as Wasteland, courtesy of Steve Aycock, but before I got around to it, the property owners demolished the spot. The Charleston City Paper has an article on how it all went down. Check out Steve’s (AKA SCphotog) Wasteland flickr stream for a wide range of shots including construction in progress. Don’t forget to check out the full frame shot of Corey Dowds as Shot of the Week.
SOTW 2-8-10: Josh Burt at Gabriel Park
This installment of Shot of the Week features Josh Burt at Gabriel Park. The Flash blew out his shirt but it was a happy accident. Check out the Shot of the Week. There’s an outtake after the jump.
SOTW 1-25-10: Brandon Morris at Buena Vista
This week’s Shot of the Week comes from Colin Walsh. Whether or not he rules depends on what side of the bed he woke up on that morning. This is Brandon Morris at the Buena Vista pool in Watsonville California. Brandon loves Watsonville so much he had it tattooed on his legs. Are those NOS Airwalks or did they bring back the old logo? Man I hated that logo and those shoes when they first came out. (No offense, Brandon.) Hey look kids. it’s Pabst Blue Ribbon! Check out the Shot of the Week.
