Strummerville tribute
These are skateboards allegedly benefiting the Strummerville foundtation. I say “allegedly” because I can find no mention of them on the official Strummerville site, and the site for Australian-based Blank Skateboards shows the art on flat prints, not skateboards. I actually approached Strummerville about 5 years ago in hopes of releasing a graphic with the royalties going to the foundation, but they never got back to me, and I didn’t follow up. No-va Scotia
Yes, intentionally misspelled. Nova Scotia has draconian skateboard helmet laws affecting riders of all ages. Fines start at $140 and count as traffic violations that auto insurance companies can, and have used to drop coverage for people. Go sign a petition. [Source: Slap] – Thanks to Josh Burt for the tip
Indoor spot coming to Everett, Washinton
It’s (going to be) called the Garage, and it just got funded by Kickstarter. They’ve got 16k for building materials, now I guess it’s time to build.

Hales Yeah!
Considering the fact that 90% of voting Oregonians have probably already voted by mail, this very last minute “Official Skate and Annoy Endorsement” of Portland mayoral candidate Charlie Hales is pretty pointless, but here it is for all the procrastinating undecided voters.Charlie was instrumental behind legalizing skateboarding on the streets of Portland. On his own Facebook page he gets hassled for not wearing a helmet in this photo. [Source: Cal Skate via Facebook]
Powell Street benefit
Powell Street skatepark benefit in Portland. Neighborly forces are mobilizing. Plan B is the venue, Skate rock and skate vids are the plan. Shrunken Heads is the sponsor. Portland’s skatepark system has definitely stalled, gone into hibernation even, but it seems that we’re gearing up for the second great push.

These stickers were made a while ago by former BMX pro Taj Mihelich in protest of rules for the sake of rules. These days, when he’s not undermining the will of society’s gratuitous sign makers, he’s bringing you the skaterack, among other things. Larger after the jump, but you should check out the anecdote about the origin of these stickers over at Taj’s blog on Transworld.
