Summerboard, the board with extra caster wheels, skyhooks, motors, and batteries! The only thing missing is a speaker! ( I’ll stick with my Soundboard, thanks. ) I know you’re thinking “This thing probably weighs a ton. I hope it costs a lot.” Don’t worry, they have models starting at $899 and $1699! Oh no, those base models don’t come with skyhooks, “Freshies” or “Launch Pads.” Thankfully, they’ve got packages that range from $1799 to $1899, as well as financing. Success!
This beast of a tricked out model offers blood pumping adrenaline at a moments notice, as long as it’s not more than 6-12 miles worth of adrenaline.

Let’s check it out.

Buying options are plenty, and extravagant enough to make you the envy of someone I’m sure.

These modern day skyhooks, or “Foot Holds” if you will, look pretty heavy duty. These will set you back $100 for the set. The last one is a view of a “Launch Pad,” which is, you know, just a pad that goes over a Foot Hold and costs $50 for a pair.

If you don’t want to drop $100 you can get a set of Foamies for $60. It’s essentially a toe stops you bolt onto your board. You can use the Shred Toolkit to install them. The bottom of the wrench is a custom size, so it’s slightly less mass produced and I’m sure worth the $50.

Here’s a close-up of the drive mechanism and drive belt. It actually looks pretty slick.

I know you’re asking, “What about the Freshies? How can I experience ultimate smoothness and shred rough terrains like a boss?” Freshies allow you to “embrace the power of internal suspension,” which I guess is just bunch of holes drilled into the wheel that maybe let them flex like a moon rover tire. Freshies cost $150, but for $100 the Powerball drive set will allow you “Dominate the slopes with unmatched durability and precision engineering.”

But how do you use these things?

All snarky comments aside (except for the ones after this parenthesis) these boards are made in the USA, so maybe that’s why they are so expensive. Really made in the USA, not just assembled? OK… I’m not sure about those accessories though. The landing page looks like it was purchased off some generic theme market and the copy on the website definitely seems AI generated in places. Expensive and heavy, definitely. Fun? Probably. Worth it? Not for me. Prove me wrong Summeboard, you know where to send the review products. This video appears to be an actual review and not just a thinly veiled advertisement. At least it did for the few seconds I skimmed through it. I was hoping to make fun of it but this guy seems pretty earnest.
You know it’s good if it comes with instructions on how to bail…
Summerboard has been around in one form or another since 2014 (!) so they must be doing something right, Who knows, they may outlast Skate and Annoy.
