Jughead #32: Weird Cats

Day 6 of 7 Days of Jughead features Jughead v2 #32 from April of 1992. Introducing the impossibly cool sounding “J-Head Brigade” and the story “Weird Cats.”

What’s going on here? Some guy named “Sector” has some cats that he’s outfitted Weird-Science style, and has trained them to steal a bunch of her from Jughead’s basement. Uptight Archie shows up and finds his new friends off-putting. The J-Head Brigade is somehow not very upset when they recover the stollen gear, perhaps because they are embarrassingly thought Sector’s cats were aliens. Here are the skateboarding panels, the complete story is too much to slog through.

Here’s the first panel of another story, “Do You Mind?” that is only featured her because it’s the same gang of “weird-looking punks and skateboarder kids” AKA Slug, Stinky, Smog, and Smug that Jughead befriended in issue #29, although now they have morphed into “disadvantaged street kids.” It’s reassuring to see Stinky still wearing his skateboard helmet even when he isn’t anywhere near a skateboard. They hastily bail on the next page.
