I was honored to be asked to contribute some of my old skateboarding photos here on Skate and Annoy. I grew up in the seventies and eighties in Arizona skating the legendary Desert Pipes, tons of empty pools, the Love Bowls, and lots more …
I now live in Seattle, I have been up here in the Northwest for 20 years. I still skate as much as I can, I love all the amazing skateparks we have here, but sometimes I miss the good old daze …
So here is my first contribution, a gallery of pipe photos I put together awhile back, enjoy !!!

I bought Ping’s dvd years ago, had amazing footage of pipes, Love Bowl and I think a pool called dead cat or something like that, I need to watch it again. Ping has some AMAZING stuff!

Wow.
Amazing archive, thanks for sharing!
I am sure that at the time, as unreal as it must have seemed, it probably seemed like a perfectly-likely adventure!
To be in that place, at that time, and with film in your camera…..
Proper documentation, in the moment.
Cheers!

Listening to Nilsson Schmilsson(which I just bought at the record store today) while checking this post out, very fitting, 70’s sounds with 70’s photos, Amazing!!!!!! Got to hit a pool today/good day!!!!!

lucky Dan, hitting a pool is always a good thing, my pool has 3 feet of ice in it still !

I love Nilsson, ever since getting The Point as a kid. I recommend watching the funny but sad documentary on his life: Who Is Harry Nilsson (And Why Is Everybody Talkin’ About Him?) that was released in 2010. It’s on Netflix.

These are great! I have the Warren Bolster book but these are equally cool. So much atmosphere.
