Istanbul spot checks
S&A reader Raddam sent some scouting photos of skateable spots in Instanbul, Turkey. He didn’t see a lot of transition there, but he did spot some worthy street spots.
Near as I can tell, this appears to be some sort of access ramp for the stairs, although that doesn’t explain the tank trap in the middle or why it stops one step short of the top. It definitely looks like a kludge.
Launch ramps to/from nowhere. Who’s got a sheet of plywood?
A nice pyramid in an open plaza.
Long ledges and a ramp.
Short banks under a very Eastern Bloc looking statue.
A street vendor with all your American-type sports needs, including shoddy exercise gear, baseball bats, and of course, Chinese skateboards!
90’s fashion victim in a department store display. Brad Dorfman was here.
Stop. Hammertime.
How did this get in here?
“Make a little birdhouse in your soul.”
