Faux Thiebaud
On this edition of counterfeit board of the month we have a Jim Thiebaud bootleg that surfaced in Portugal on the local equivalent of Craigslist or Ebay, or something, Custo Justo. ON the left is an actual Jim Thiebaud model from SMA, circa 1989. On the right is cheap knockoff.
– Thanks to Samuel Silva for the tip.
It does’nt look cheap it has all the accessories.
I think Counterfeit-of-the Month is starting to be one of my favorite features on S&A.
Me too. Keep ’em coming!
I love it too, but it’s totally dependent on finding more, or getting more of them sent in. This one is particularly interesting to me for the same reasons that Neil mentions below.
so hold on, they were worried about being sued by DC Comics so they changed the batman logo on the bottom of the board, but they weren;t concerned at all by getting sued by a skate company, hence the total ripping off of the top logo!
