You know, mellon grabs, and also “Wear a helmet to protect you mellon!” As seen somewhere in North Carolina, (Imported from South Carolina!) Apparently the Coosaw Watermellon rides a skateboard and a surfboard. No visuals on the Coosaw Farms web site. No merch or anything. You guys are missing out on… well, OK. Probably only one sale. What is shipping to Oregon?

Insert mellon grab joke

I’ve seen that label before. I’m a produce-trucker by trade. In Oregon we get most of our watermelon from The Columbia Basin, though it depends on the time of year. Early season, we see a lot of fruit from California and Arizona, and we get bumper-crops from down south–usually Texas and Mexico–later in the year, though Floridian and Georgian stuff is occasionally shipped our way, too. They do quite a lot of greenhouse stuff down there, so those tiny personal melons are often of southern orgin.
The average bite of food travels 2600 miles to reach your mouth. Semi trucks average 5 mpg. Something to consider.
