Our geriatric sources tell us Marginal Way will be closed today for a film crew shooting a commercial for vitamins. We’re so close this story it’s almost like being in the eye of the hurricane. Quantum physics tells us we can’t observe the phenomenon without affecting the results, so if we have someone inside the experiment all bets are off. I expect MC will be gathering plenty of fodder for future cartoons. Added bonus: The film crew has made a donation to Marginal Way. I only wish we’d known about it earlier so we could have sent a GVK media crew.
God damn skateboarding sucks.
I had a similar reaction when they contacted me. But it was a good excuse for me to take a day-and-a-half off work, get up to Seattle, visit friends and skate some spots I hadn’t been to. I’ve wanted to skate Marginal Way for ever but had never been there. I checked that they were getting permission to use the park and was psyched to hear they were making a donation. I did too.
We started early and it was cold all day. A few dudes showed up to skate and just skated around the film crew. I had fun skating but it was as bad as being in a contest, too much standing around interspersed with performing on command.

I’m guessing they l”like” the cash donation to Marginal Way. And Carl, skateboarding doesn’t suck, it’s really fun.
