Skate and Annoy: Daily

Kansas City police and media stumped, obviously not radical

In this amusing video you can hear the newscasters baffled, scratching their heads trying to figure out why anyone would bother to steal all the parking blocks from a parking lot. Even the business owner is shocked that the more valuable items in the window were left behind. There really is a glaringly obvious reason… It must be a cult. Turns out parking blocks cost about $25 a pop. Somewhere there’s a DIY spot in the greater Kansas City area that just received a nice donation. Check out “Strange Theft Of Parking Stops Confuses Police, Victim” on KMBC.com.

  • thank god there is still skaters that do it themselves, the reporters would of been really stumped if a length of 2inch pipe from a near by fence was also cut out …hahahahahahahahahahaha

  • Laughing my ass off ! Thanks for the humor !!

  • those poor “cars have no protection”.
I love this story, it’s like the revolution being televised. one persons valueless object is priceless to another. even my mind can’t think of what to do with 30 curbs. maybe they strategically placed them to improve 30 spots around town? my impression of that region is that there are some sweet ditches. I especially take delight in that they stole the curbs from an interior design place. way to go Chad!! you and your bros won one for the home team!! you can wear an anti hero shirt, but you are a hero to me

  • Ha, I thought that story was great. The news folks are just baffled! hahahahaha!!!

    • A

      Curb thief is cool.

      • curb thievery is such beautiful anarchy. what a repulsive act! you could just tell that the newscasters assumed they were gonna sell the curbs for three hits of smack. like criminals will stoop to any depth? if these 3 modern day Robin Hoods can pull off this heist, think what the rest of us can do with stealing just one curb each.

  • who cares anyway

i stole a recycled plastic parking block in ’90 from k-mart…it was so light and i just ripped it through the rebarb…skated the fuck out of it for at least 15 years

  • I bet I know those dudes, but obviously can’t tell from that video.

Looks like an anti-hero shirt on the dude in brown, but its hard to tell

  • I love the likelihood that the local cops who skate that heard of such a supposedly unexplainable theft ain’t talkin’.

  • the angry mob

The Midnight Lumber Yard supplied all our building needs when we were but wee lads..

    Go Ghetto or Go Home!

  • That’s pretty ghetto. When I was a kid we had a big house with a basement. We skated there in the summer heat, rainy days, snow… it was great. Had a manual pad, 4″ quarter, fun box and wanted a parking block. Went down to a lumber yard that sold em, the guy behind the counter asked, “What do you boys want with one parking block?”. Told him it was for skateboarding, so he gave us a discount. Sold it to us for cost. Think it was like $6-7 bucks. I frequented that store faithfully after that encounter.

  • If this was skaters, it’s a great editorial on what people value. Everyone in the story insists there was no value in the blocks. Actually there’s a lot of value in them, just not the kind you put in the bank. Shows how small-minded people can be. Not that I’m immune.

I saw this a while back and thought the same thing, now I wish I would have passed it on
