Skate and Annoy: Daily

Lemmy, the Movie

Playing in Portland right now through the 21st, and elsewhere concurrently and ongoing. Checkout the trailers after the jump or look up screenings in your town on the official site. Looks great, lot’s of interviews with people I like, plus, it’s Lemmy, you know? Even NPR likes him. If you’re hungry for more, The Onion has an interview with the filmmakers.

  • he was on the adam carolla podcast the other day promoting this

Motorhead has some ‘little nephews’ in my country.
I read that PPS played NXNW in Portland, about ten years ago.
Aside from playing a cover of ‘Ace of Spades’ with dutch lyrics (a classic at live shows),here’s a tribute song. My two eurocents:

  • Bastards!

See “Eat the Rich” if you can find it. Cuz Lemmy playing a KGB agent is one of the LESS ridiculous things about it.

  • Here’s my M

    • I saw Motorhead about five years ago, I didn’t wear ear plugs and my ears are still ringing!

  • lemmy kicks assssssssss……………he as the perfect face for the movies…..or is that radio?

  • Saw Motorhead twice at the Roseland and they were fucking epic. One of the shows had Morbid Angel open for them. I got so drunk I bought a t-shirt! Seriously, I was shithammered.

Lemmy is the man. Gnarly facial warts and all.

    /49% Motherfucker, 51% Son of a Bitch

  • I was about to say “Motorcycle man” but I just remembered it was Saxon.
“No stop ’til Hammersmith ?” I am right this time ?

    • talentlessquitter

      “No sleep….”

Remember? ‘Les Beasties Boys sont tres cool!’

As long as you use fancy words like ‘afficionados’,I think your translation is just fine.Btw you speak way better english than I speak french. Not a single word portugese either…C’est la vie!

      • Danke wel, “mietje” (is that an accurate translation of “talentlessquitter” ?) – as always I get into trouble when it comes to spelling …. Abrazos !

        • Please forget it then- I was looking for a “little player”, “someone who does things only by half”, “half heartedly”, “neither hot nor cold” – “neither meat nor fish”. As you sum it up in one word, it gets difficult to find an approaching vernacular translation.
          Traduttore, tradittore …

        • talentlessquitter

Now that is not very nice, calling me a fag…

  • I highly advise one to pick up his book “White Line Fever”.

We were sitting outside the Showbox at a sold out Motorhead show around 2002(?) after skating. Lemmy walks by and asks “you blokes comin in?” – we tell him it’s sold out and he walks us in and puts us on the list. After going back to the bus, the tech tells us in the 20 years hes been working as a roadie – that was the coolest thing he’s seen. Very humble guy. Will talk your ear off about pinball though.

  • “lemmy” tel ya, its kinda private joke for us poor foreigners.

    • talentlessquitter

Poor? Thanks,I thought us Euro’s had to stick together 😉

I feel rich to have seen Motorhead live.

      METAL!!!!!!

      • “poor” means as a foreigner I don’t understand everything – there are some blanks in my neuronal translation – so it’s a kind of private joke among afficionados.

  • I make love to mountain lions,
    Sleep on red-hot branding irons,
When I walk the roadway shakes,
    Bed’s a mess of rattlesnakes,

    Black-hearted to the bone,
    Older than The Rolling Stones,
Been to heaven, been to hell,
Bought the farm, and I won’t sell,

Give and take, rise and fall,
Rise up and take it all,
    Secret love, I won’t tell,
Knock you up and ring your bell.

Kiss the whip, eat the gun,
    Tell me it ain’t fair,
    Midnight victim, hit and run,
    I’m so bad, baby I don’t care.

  • Lemmy is rad! I once found a porno at a yard sale that had him in a porno shoot, I think it was High Society.
    EAT THE RICH!
