Skate and Annoy: Daily

Yo Gabba Gabba on Vans

Yo Gabba Gabba heads have a fondness for skateboarding, and now they have Vans shoes too. They are expensive, but cool. Too bad they don’t make them in adult sizes. ANohter thing sorely missing, the Gabbas all have models, but there’s no DJ Lance Rock shoes! Killer video after the jump.

There’s only one skate video, but the other ones are still amusing. You should check it out if you’re a fan.

In case the Youtube version disappears…

  • there’s a new video up featuring another character skating with hosoi and bucky lasek, and it’s a reference to the old “freedom of choice” devo video. also they’re releasing adult sizes in march.

  • With such in depth skate references, is it a coincidence that the Muno character also looks like one of Ed T’s Sect characters with acne?

  • my kid digs this show. the dude that created the show is the dude from that Aquabats band. he surfs and skateboards….even has a small role in Gleaming the cube. he’s the dude in the airplane that says “theres my moms house, and theres my dads house” or something like that when they are scoping pools from the airplane…..have no clue how i know all this, but yeah its true.

I have never hear of “Gleaming The Cube” so I just looked it up on IMDB. As soon as I saw the box cover I shat myself.

AKA: A brothers justice, and yeah, pretty overly complicated and bizarre plot. You can tell one scene it’s obviously Mullen with a big blonde wig.
        Best line: “Don’t give me a jerk-off hand-job”!

Som’tin’ wrong with Mr. Slater? 😉

        • The Atomic Motel is the only memorable thing about that movie …if it was even in it, I always wanted to know more about that place.

        • masterochicken

Nope. But if you saw that box cover for the first time, you’d wonder what the hell that movie could possibly be about. There’s just alot going on.

  • woah! spot on recreation of mountain’s part from video show. even the same bridge cruise. a promotion geared toward an audience like that is probably the last place I’d expect to see a skate reference dating back to the mid eighties. cool.

  • houseofneil

and Dee Dee King sure was talentless. Dee Dee Ramone was awesome, but Dee Dee King? ugh.

  • yes, talentless, its called Dee Dee King.

  • talentlessquitter

Hah! That board graphic is a nice tribute to the Lance Mountain prototype
    graphic – It’s in Disposable.

  • The Shralper

    thats a pretty sick deck

  • hahaha…me too…I wanna get paid to ride around in a funny looking costume…

  • talentlessquitter

    The Ramones made a rap-album??

    • The Ramones didnt but Dee-Dee Ramone did but only he changed his name to Dee-Dee King
