The longboard truck is the wrong way around?

  4. I thought the irony was having the classic frat dork reminiscing on his deep “skating roots.” Roots which really just involved him carrying around his standard issue “accessory” longboard once in a while, the one he kept in a corner of his dorm room for a year, the one he rode to the Jamba Juice place a few times wearing flip flops.

The puka shell necklace, the flipped polo shirt, the brand new surf themed board, all there. I am familiar with that species of douche bag, but there are real boards on the wall…

there’s way too much “hardcore” elitism on here. This cartoon is below you.

  6. Look at the loving portrayal of the boards and the shoe hoard. How can you see this as other than an affectionate portrayal? Oh, do you mean that I didn’t show any Powell boards?

  7. Powell?
    Nah…where’s the circle of skulls?
That guy’s GOTTA be a mongo pusher!
    🙂

  8. Yep you can tell he is posing for sure. Find out real quick try to skate that backwards truck.. Sleep then Work.. Then more of the same.. You might have backwards trucks too!! Quit, go skate. Or at least take some time off…lol

  9. Oh the 3-D image is just convex by the truck. its on right.. but kinda looks backwards.. I know we have all done that.. srry

The truck is mounted right.Sorry..,my bad.

  11. You guys aren’t keeping up on longboard accessories. There are quite a few trucks out that resemble the old Gullwing split axles when it comes to the geometry – 45 degree angle kingpin that looks backward compared to the stuff you use. The tighter turning radius is useful when your board is too long for the terrain…

  12. Those hangers look upside down though…

  13. I meant that the old DP and Hosoi boards trump the classic stereo type in the third frame. I used to drive past UO twice a day so my perspective is skewed in a certain direction. I don’t hate those dudes, it’s just funny as hell when you spot one rolling along in his stinkbug stance and book bag. They really do carry them mostly.

  14. I thought he was waxing poetic at a skate shop that had the Duane and the Hosoi on the wall, and was in front of the sale shoes, with his campus cruiser.
The bongo makes a great TV tray for eating shrroms and pizza at the skatepark.
And yeah, so many Variflex Connection truck ideas on the old ConcreteWave-shopping catalog-cum-magazine.

my new coworker at the truck part factory rides a long board. cool to talk to someone using english at an assembly job around here. sorry its true. I skated ed benedict at 1am on the way home from clackamas last night. That mini ramp with hips and pool coping is fun. I need to get back in touch with my sf street skating roots. Skated all over dowtown p-town the other night with a crew. it was fun. I push regular, switch and mongo. That hill behind the kelso,wa park is super fun to bomb. ramble ramble ramble. on topic-I laughed at the comic.

  16. I’m with freezine. I thought he was at a shop and just bought his new longboard.

I was referring to Randal and Paris trucks but after a closer look I just think they are badly drawn Indy’s (dark yellow bushings).Details, details and not the point here…nice comic.

  18. Ha! Perfect timing on this one, what with the new Concrete Wave buyer’s guide now out….

  19. Nope, just badly drawn backwards-geometry downhill trucks. I decided to try to draw them without a visual reference.

  20. I think some of us need to remember that there’s a difference between more-than-halfway-to-the-grave dudes who are just happy to still be able to roll (or glide, in the surf) on boards that may not be any more functional than the ones they started on (such as keel-fin fish, in the surf)… and, pseudo-soulful youngsters who are trying to expropriate others’ not-all-it’s-cracked-up-to-be, long gone youth, instead of creating their own. Definitely didn’t look like the latter to me, though he’s consuming “their” goods.
