Agent Orange past and present

Agent Orange is playing Sunday 28th at Slabtown Bar in Portland, along with Grindline, the Band. Meanwhile, John Egertson was converting some old vinyl to mp3’s and pulled out this mail order sheet from Agen’t Orange’s This Is the Voice, their ill-fated 1986 semi-major label debut on Enigma records. I think these guys even had an appearance in a movie around this time. Flyer for Staurday’s show and a chance to go back in time to order guitar picks, t-shirts and skateboards after the jump.

– Thanks and happy birthday to Steve Turner for the tip.

Designed by the band! I can’t remember who I was talking to about a possible reissue, but whoever it was said it probably wouldn’t happen. I think there was bad blood between the band and Dorfman, but don’t quote me on this as I’m basing this on a hazy memory. Anyway, as you can read, it’s really gnarly.

Here’s the whole page. 10 bucks for a t-shirt, delivered! That’s a good deal even in 1986.

$!20 for the complete, $50 for the deck only. I wonder what happened to the unsold stock when Enigma folded in 1990.

And finally, the flyer for Sunday’s show.

  • Brings back the mamories. I had a bad azz Agent Orange Deck, tricked with all the Gogo gadgets. Liked the way the deck looked, but couldn’t stand the band. It was an oxy moron, or something for sure. Listening to bands like (Early DRI, Minor Threat, MDC) thought Agent Orange was too slow and “Rock n Roll” hahaha. The good ol 80’s, I really miss that board. Sold it to some punk kid in 88. Don’t think you could read but just a portion as the paint flaked off most of it. BTW as an old ass bastard I now enjoy AO… Go figure huh…

  • The show was ridiculously good. And the crowd was loving it. Picks have gone up to a dollar each though.

Didn’t Enigma put out the Old Skul, the elementary school aged punk band?

  • DocMurdock

Grindline the band is awesome too. Looks like a good show.

  • Vegetable Lasagna

Seen ’em a bunch o times and they never disappoint.

  • Saw them play up here in Tacoma, WA Saturday and had a blast.

  • houseofneil

yup, there were Agent Orange reissues in Germany. Really nice looking too.

  • dougdrill

something about an 80’s chick with her t- shirt tied up at the waist, grrrrrr

  • Enigma Records was ultimately such a dead end for indy bands, it was considered a “step up” but most bands went there to die…a good comp. called The Enigma Variations has most of ’em…

  • I’ve heard a rumor that Vision did indeed re-issue the Agent Orange deck, but only overseas. The story is that they didn’t do it with the band’s ok and didn’t pay royalties on the re-issue. Dorfman wouldn’t do something like that, would he? (yeah, right)
