Eugene skatepark fly-throughs

Skaters for Eugene Skateparks has posted three video fly-throughs of revised design concepts, as well as some still renders. There’s also a feedback form which is accepting comments until November 22nd. They want this to be a destination park, so… feel free to comment, but maybe you could tip them off if you’re not a resident. The videos really help give you a better feel for the design. For instance, I was more likely to vote in favor of the weird flower bowl until I saw the way the outer walls were considerably higher than the inner ones. The video really helped see how it might ride out better than just viewing the overhead view. Fly-throughs should be mandatory for all skatepark proposals. I imagine in the not too distant feature we will be embedding the models in web pages directly, allowing users to drag the point of view wherever they want. Check it out..

– Thanks to Sarib Khalsa for the tip.

Cool designs! Hope it gets built on time! There has been some question as to the motives of that Tactics owner starting the organization collecting money for the park. I think his shop is 1 block from the site? Pretty much a monopoly on the skate goods in Eugene after that park goes up. Oh well, at least the kids will have a killer park!

  • NO Ducks in Eugene?
Ya’ll are a bunch of Quacks!
    lol

  • krahamgoats

I really like the “flower” bowl only it needs distortion. Something that big and symetrical could get kinda repetitive

  • Willjones

i’ve gotten to where i don’t really care, i say just let them build something, i trust those guys to build something sick…

  • I like the disco dance floor! ah ah ah ah, stayin alive!!!

  • shits gay.

Those designs are retarded. 30 tacos? symetrical BS?

get out of the way and let mark or pete or somebody else build something rad.

  • I like them both but I choose E

  • i vote for concept D. shit is AWSUM

  • I liked how all the animated figures were either lurking or only skating street and not skating the bowls.

  • cold ones

The snake run.berm thing in Design # looks like fun.

  • We have it way too good here. Actually having a choice between two killer parks is insane! My vote is for the Shroom. Dare to be different is what I say.

  • skaterhusseindave

the outer walls are higher to give you the speed to get on top of the shroom…since I lack the balls to ollie off the shroom to tranny, I sadly wouldn’t support this idea either, but why should scared old men stand in the way of progress?
