BCSA Updates
The Benton County Skateboard Association has some updates they wanted pass on. I’ve paired them with some photos from a gentleman who falls within the BCSA jurisdiction. You all know him (and love him) as ColinWalshRules.
Here’s a new youtube vid of the Gnarbq and Nontest, thanks to Jimmy.
Our proposal to expand the Eric Scott McKinley Skatepark in Corvallis received a significant vote of approval from the Corvallis CIP Commission (see quoted text below; delete the web address if the hyperlinks work). Now we are in a funding race with Eugene. Ideally the timing will work out so Dreamland can get things going here while they work in Eugene. A representative from Dreamland Skateparks was at the hearing when we presented our proposal to the CIP Commission. You can keep the Dreamland reference on the down low for now since we do not have final approval from the City just yet. Feel free to note the bowl design was donated from Dreamland.
The CIP Commission voted to approve our proposal to expand the Corvallis Skatepark! This is not the final approval but it means that we have a firm commitment from the City of Corvallis which will allow us to write and submit grant proposals to help fund the project.
Yes, this process takes time, but now the only thing holding us back is funding. The sooner we raise the funds the sooner the bowl and other improvements will happen so help us help you by donating some cash to speed things up.
Thanks to ALL those who have helped and ALL those who will. We would not be here without you. Stay tuned for more updates. Sincerely, BCSA Admin.”
