Meanwhile, at the toy store
X Board Illuminators as seen on the shelves at my local Toys-R-Us. These guys get around having to add the extra height by placing the batteries along side the baseplate of the truck instead of underneath. These guys even have a “pro” rider named Doug Brown. Who the hell is Dug Brown? I don’t know, but then again I don’t follow the skate mags, so maybe he is someone other than the guy who started Skate Straight, an organization that would make Ian Mackaye proud, and could probably do something for Andy Roy.
Right. X Board Illuminators. $10 a truck seems a bit high. These things look kind of cheap in the packaging too.
Your not going to find Doug Brown in the magazines. He’s some dude that made himself pro and rides for companies like Ollie Pop bubblegum and some trucks without wheels so you can practice tricks while stationary. I think he’s a singer songwriter, too. He seems amazingly delusional. If you have some time to kill you should do some internet research on the guy.
There’s a long thread on Doug Brown on the Slap Message board.
