Skate and Annoy: Daily

oregon-contest

Busy weekend

Contests and events are stacking up this month. Here’s another. If you are in Portland on the 19th, you can celebrate the 33 and a 3rd anniversary of Cal Skate, Portland’s longest running skateshop, which we love, but unfortunately it’s happening ON THE SAME DAY AS THE CONTEST IN AUMSVILLE WE ARE SPONSORING, but I guess that’s not a big deal, is it, Mike? I mean, it’s not like you asked us to sponsor it or anything… and we do love Cal Skate, honestly.

Right. Contest in Aumsville. We’re one of the sponsors. Again, I decided to put up a little money for this contest because I’m always ragging on the scene or the city. So put up or shut up, right? It’s easy to complain, but harder to try and make a difference. Unfortunately, we won’t be able to make it to the contest due to a prior engagement. I know, it sounds suspect, but you’re not the boss of me, so I don’t have to explain myself to you.

Aumsville Note: DO everyone a favor and don’t bring any alcohol to the skatepark. The city folks seem particularly hung up on that, though maybe they should be worried about the meth instead. Oops! Sorry. Old habits die hard. Aumsville flyer after the jump. Right, there’s also Lib Tech’s Duh Bowl Trouble series in the Forks and Port Angeles, Washington.

Aumsville Contest.

From Jordan at Ravage Skateboards, the man with the dream of bringing contests back to Aumsville:

So the permit has been purchased and the contest is a full go! The city has clamped down hard on us after the events of the Trifecta there a couple years ago and have set up a series of ground rules for us and our vendors during the comp. Attached you will find the main rules that the city cares about. Their number one concern is the “No Alcohol WHATSOEVER” rule. So please try and honor that for the comp. We are going to have a little get together after the comp at the local bar called “The Sqeeze Inn” so we can all go get our fix there after contest. I have also attached the schedule for the event, keep in mind that it is all going to change depending on how many people enter each event, but for the most part that is the schedule we are going to try and stick with as close as possible. Were super stoked to be doing this and are still looking for a couple last minute sponsors to cover the remaining costs so if you know anyone let them and me know and we’ll see what we can come up with!

    Video, etc tomorrow!

  • Were is the video from this?

  • The city gets really protective of their wildlife Kevin! There were some other crazy rules in there that I left out!

  • nweyesk8 – I got at least 4 good shots of you in the Aumsville video. Kilwag will be uploading it soon and http://www.crustproductions.com is up and running but not quite done being built.

Where were all the ‘masters’ for the Aumsville contest? I had to skate against the young kids instead.

  • Barge-A-Que was fun as hell. Thanks to the sponsors and all that attended. We’ll do it again next year. I’ll bring water next time.

  • City of Aumsville has set up some guidelines for us all

#7 Vendors will not molest any animals. (City Ordinance 505, Sect. 15)

Sorry , Crust Productions is a one man operation in the editing room and we shy away from fancy shmancy stuff . Just skateboarding man .Raw and to the point.

  • Oh and Jason,

You should give me a copy of the footy too. I have Final Cut Pro and was trained on it by an ancient Chinese trainer and can do some fancy shit. Maybe even sprinkle in some explosions and fake sparks off the grinds? No? Too Tony Hawk Pro Skater?

  • We’ll be there. 🙂

  • Jesus Crust

Crust Productions will be there to film the event. Usually I produce a video of the events within 24hrs but I have Race For The Cure on Sunday so well have to wait till monday. I will send you a Vimeo link when its complete.

  • It is easy to talk about it and not step up. That’s why we all need to go and show support for aumsville a place that we all love to skate and help show the city that skaters in oregon still care.
