Skate and Annoy: Daily

parking-block

The People’s web site?

Not to be confused with the People’s Poet… So I’m wondering what, you the readers, want from Skate and Annoy. What kind of features and coverage do you want to see more of. Does the web really need another discussion forum? What do you want? Enquiring minds want to know, or at least I do. I may not enact all the ideas, but I will give them to my imaginary intern to read. What’s up with that graphic? I made some sweatshirts for my session buddies back in 2002. Ta-da!

  • At times it would be nice if the author was a bit more narcissistic… tell us what you’re eating for breakfast, etc (and how it relates to skateboarding of course). Maybe interview some old pros. More vert. More vert. More vert. Give your readers assignments from time to time. Document progress on a new trick you are working on like the good ol invert. Do a D.I.Y. how-to for a “Better looking blog”. Build a ramp or bowl in your back yard (there can never be too many back yarders). Cover a S&A tour… skate trip on the road with a band.. Crap I don’t know, I’m brain storming here… It’s hard to improve on something that is already great. What does S&A want from it’s readers?

  • Is there a way we can improve everyone’s self esteem? Maybe you can pay that guy a lot of money to bring his comics back.

If you fuck it up just grab a sludge hammer and try, try, again.

  • Concrete Warfare

I agree, If you skate you know what it should look like when your done so go do it

wait, ya’ll want somebody else to be responsible for more DIY content……get off the computer and start doing it yourself, then share it…

  • I think it would be cool if we could upload photos to elaborate on our posts and maybe embed videos. Hot links would be cool too.

  • I too would like there to be some more DIY added to the site. It would be great to have a resource on the web that pulls together all sorts of information. S&A has some good momentum as a blog, so why not here.

A user populated wiki would be perfect provided there were moderators. Probably complicated to set up but I think that would be a good option.

  • Just don’t go the Twitter route, I’ve got enough shit to keep up with while I’m stuck at work, not skating.

  • Bob Acidcasualty

Already righteously random, according to those of us it appeals to. In fact, it reminds me a little of Keith Gardner’s kinda ‘fish out of water’ editor’s page in Fishing World, a 70’s print magazine that apparently was the most popular of its kind (despite the sometimes pseudo-academic absurdism of its editor). Not that it’s THAT ‘out of water’ (you haven’t recounted your wife saying “I want to be bald!!” as you fiddle with skate gear instead of fly tying material), but compared to listening to Steve Cabellero recount a trick that gained him “notarization”, or seeing surfers who seem to honestly think that “eggy” is the same thing as “edgy”, its lack of mind numbingly dumb Cal-bonics hits the spot. (Not that I’ve got anything against NON-mind-numbingly dumb….)

T&A everyday as opposed just fridays…and T,V&A…oh,too much perversion? well, LA-TEE-DA YOUR MAJESTY! i suppose you’ve never had restraining order either sheesh, it must be a nice view from your pedestal.

  • dr. fuzz

The site is great, keep it up as is!! Maybe you could turn that logo into stickers and send me a whole bunch. ha!

  • Negative Ned

Are you kidding me. Since when did this become Skate and Sensitivity. Shut up and blog.

Glad you’re asking and not pulling some new coke thing on your loyal readers. Speaking of your readers, if SNA is getting stale with you, put it back on your readers. Some good old fashioned scene reports or interviews might be good.

Some SNA t-shirts would be cool.

Ever think of a SNA promoted skate jam? No budget or sponsors, just something announced on this site with an open invitation. A park permit and PA system for music is all you’d need.

  • Mighty Whitey

    More cowbell!

  • Threaded comments. It becomes hard to follow a discussion that spans more than 10 posts.

Hass – Threaded comments are long overdue. I have to figure out how to modify the wordpress theme. I’ve been thinking about a facelift anyway.

  • nweyesk8

yeah, have you ever considered a print version 😉

  • Abegnegal

    related to skateboarding of course.

  • Abegnegal

    More slutty hot chicks

  • More Rik less hippies.

You also need a Twitter account. It is hard for me to get through my work day without knowing when the Skate And Annoy staff are having a shit.

Make a print zine out of some of the original content.

  • if it ain’t broke don’t fix it!

  • Tom Miller

    1. 24/7 Grover webcam
    2. Comprehensive coverage of ALL skateparks, including Gresham, Scappoose, and the original Pier Park
    3. SnA branded head and wrist bands

  • I love this damn site. It started a while back when I only used to occasionally check out eBay watch, and now it’s my home page. I’m sure changes you make, if any, will be well thought out. Keep up the good work.

  • yeah actually if it changed id be pretty pissed off… i love all the shitand goin-ons you post from the oregon skate scene you post and the random tidbits of skateboarding in pop culture. actually you should add more merch to your site.. dude a SnA shirt would be sick

  • I fear change! SnA is AOK as is. Well, maybe more action figure coverage. (That’s a great graphic.)

  • Carroll13

I’m mostly happy…but I’d echo what Matt Wes said about concrete.
There’s some legally sanctioned skate spots in Vancouver with banks that might benefit from some vandalis…..er..*cough*….”public volunteering” with materials and work not billed to taxpayers.
I just don’t want to fuck my volunteering up, otherwise it’d be done by now.
So, concrete tips would be nifty! 🙂

  • catkiller44

Im pretty damn happy with the site. I visit it everyday. I have been waiting for more 80s zines. Also I love when you put up old photos(junk from the 70s and 80s). And I like all the interesting/funny stuff(like skating in movies). Keep up the good work

  • more Burt Reynolds

  • Matt Wes
