Skate and Annoy: Daily

Northbrook Illinois, Trevor

Trevor at Northbrook, Illinois

I’m in Chicago for a few days, actually flying back home by the time this post goes live. I went to the Northbrook skate park on Friday. It was a little bit chilly, but there were a handful of people riding. I actually met this guy named Pete (Hi Pete!) who was there the last time I was at this skate park back in August. I didn’t take many photos, but I did get this shot of Trevor with a little bit of board slide action. I can’t believe I got the exposure right. While I was there a cop showed up to give the boot to some BMX riders. They were ineffectually whining at the cops saying they should be allowed to use a public park, and the cop replied “If I had it my my, neither of you could use it, and there would just be an empty parking lot here.”

  • now, if he had rockin rons ™ bearings shimmed to .320493mm spec’d out with hand dyed bones ™ (c) pool riders 62.1 mm toned out with an asymmetrical urethane base boiled at 65 degrees Celsius after diffusing it with 3.4 Jules it might have been a switch fakie-nollie to hangup.

…or say the fatties at Concrete Diapers!

but it isnt a board slide, it’s a lip slide, it’s all in how you approach. You can both lipslide and boarslide a hand rail, but they are different tricks based on how you get into the slide. I can still board slide a hand rail, but I can’t lip slide on one to save my life….

poop on you colin. Disaster to boardslide… technically the same thing.

  • skaterhusseindave

You said switch to fakie hee hee…

  • maybe it’s a switch r n r slider to fakie…

  • it’s totally a lipslide.. disaster is only when you’re not sliding… everyone knows that

  • A

So a disaster to boardslide is a officially a lipslide? I missed that boat, I didn’t think there was a need to clarify, if was a R-N-R boardslide I would have called it out. FRONTSIDE INDYS FOR EVERYONE!!!!!

If the skater is goofy then that’s a lipper, for the reason Marek mentioned.

Kilwag isn’t quite telling the whole story there. I’ll let him tell it. Also where’s the pics of Gurnee and Waukegan damnit!

  • tranny-wise you make 180 ollie (bs or fs) before you lock in boardslide. no biggie, however you missed your lipslide train 39 years ago 🙂

  • A

    What’s the difference?

  • Welsh Pete

Are you sure that is not a lipslide?
