And in local indoor skatepark news…

The Department is hosting what is supposed to be Portland’s biggest contest this year, AKA the Holiday Havoc which is on December 19th. And Windells would like everyone to know that they are now open for public sessions as well as doing the whole skate camp thing. Flyers after the jump.

  • Holiday Havoc rescheduled to Jan 2nd.

  • No one even mentioned all the new outdoor stuff that Jamie and Pete built since last spring. All concrete.

  • sutherlin mike

I agree with what tobin said.
It must be nice to have that skate option any time day or night.
skate it while its there move on to the next spot or DO IT YOURSELF when its gone.

  • too much reading. This is getting lame. someone has too much time on their hands. Should be skating. Some post the Lars hotline numbers for this bullshit.

  • “Outlaw anything other that free market capitalist banking regulations for those banking programs not insured by the FDIC.”

This hallucinatory statement proves once again that DaddyYo doesn’t know WTF he is talking about. We don’t have any “free market capitalist” banking regulations because we don’t have any free market capitalist banks.

What we have is a fractional reserve banking system which is entirely a creation of the government and is run as an elaborate Ponzi scheme funded by the printing presses of the U.S. Treasury and the machinations of the Federal Reserve Banks.

DaddyYo, read this book and don’t come back until you fully understand every concept in it.

  • curtis – buisness is affected by politics. Do you think people are going to send their kids to camp if they don’t have money to buy food because they have lost their jobs?

Zed- Will asked me a question and I answered it. No one is requiring you to read anything here.

  • Zed-word

Ooooo…..I like you idea there at the end. Like, aybe some rusty pungees in the foam pit. Just a few, and they’d move them on a daily basis, so it would be like a gamble everytime you tried that stupid fucking frontflip or Christ Air flyout crap.

  • Simply Stupid

“If you can air over a 20ft pit filled with rabid badgers or a pool full of piranhas, you can air over any hip, table top or spine!” I think it would be cool if they could do a back flip on their bicycles over a pit of razor wielding monkeys with aids, that have been eating x-lax just for extra motivation not to fall in the pit. Or even better if they were hiding in the foam pit.

  • Zed-word

you know what, I think I agree with DaddyOh on many of his political viewpoints. But Jesus man, is he one self-important asshole. This really isn’t the place for all of this political talk.

IS Windells Skatepark located near their year-round ski and snowboard resort? It was always my childhood dream (well, when I was 16 anyways) to go to Windells. The skatepark does look sick, but I never understood the whole foam pit thing. I think they should do just the opposite. If you can air over a 20ft pit filled with rabid badgers or a pool full of piranas, you can air over any hip, table top or spine!

  • skateparks go out of “business” if they are in “business”. regardless of politics.

  • Simply Stupid

Who gives a shit that he has dillusions of grandeur. That park looks sick as fuck and if you don’t jump on it ASAP, it might be closed down. Chances are no it won’t because it is a CAMP, but if it was open for public enjoyment without having to stay there that is a huge bonus for anybody within range or with the ability to roll on over there. CAMP SHIT YOUR PANTS.

  • Okay Will, here you go. All this information is available on the web. I did the research myself. You tell me where I am wrong.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SandL_Crisis

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CommunityReinvestmentAct

The basic problem came from Carter and Clinton trying to affect the housing market by making loan money to minorities easier to obtain. From what I am able to understand, the Bushes acted to save the banking industry from the Carter/Clinton attempts to ruin it in order to buy votes in the minority/poor population.

What happened was a total restructuring of the private real estate lending and investing market based on federal insurance of mortgages and mortgage backed financial products. Meaning, the federal government promised to pay for the high risk loans that banks were required to make to unqualified borrowers.

It is not that the borrowers have defaulted on their loans. It is that they could default and if they do the Federal Government has to pay the banks for the cost of the defaults. It is not just the poor people that the government required banks to lend to that are solely the problem.

The federal government had to allow everyone to be eligible for high risk loans under the Equal Protection clause of the Civil Rights Act. So if the few poor urban blacks are kept from foreclosure then the over-extended suburban yuppie with the ARM financed McMansion will also be covered.

There is no law that promises the Federal Government will cover the loans for the borrower if they default. There is no law that provides payment for the people who purchased derivative products based on current and/or future defaulted loans.

What has the market frozen is the fear that Obama will try to cover everyone and the country will fall into a depression. I think that fear is warranted. He is already setting up his WPA and CCC.

    Just look at the

  • LMAO! Good luck with that.

“The last 8 years should give you a good idea about the kind of guy your dealing with.”

no, i dont want him to point and agree with some politician or political party, i want him to explain to me what he thinks, all he ever does is point his finger and say “oh its this persons fault and this guy is better,” and thats all anybody ever really does, i want a detailed why, and yes i wouldnt mind getting in a political discussion

even though i would consider myself a democrat, im not completely narrow minded, i can open my mind to other ideas, and i hope daddyo can be the “mature adult” that he claims to be and do the same…

  • This facility and every other private skatepark will be out of businees in a year. Thanks liberals!

Can you believe this guy is for real? I remember the first time I encountered him, It was on a small local forum in Nashville Tn. I was convinced he was a normal guy just posting outrageous things for laughs and to get people fired up. Nope. He is the real deal and he makes me embarrassed that he is from Tennessee. I think his dad gave it to him up the ass when he was a child. That’s why his name is Daddy-Oooohhhh.

  • Will Jones… The last 8 years should give you a good idea about the kind of guy your dealing with. I dont blame Bush I blame those that voted for him twice. And you really want to get in a political discussion with this guy? Think again.

  • Will Jones

    “Thanks liberals!”

ok cool sounds like you got it all figured out, so enough with the finger pointing, i want to hear your ideas for rebuilding the economy…

  • Estes' Ghost

Thanks to Leader of all Fascists DaddyYo! Now once again- FUCK OFF!

  • is daddyo really michael savage? if so, is liberalism a mental disorder? or is psychological nudity in public ok?

  • “Yes they are public until the economy picks up again.”

The economy os not going to pick up again. In fact, it is going to get much, much worse.

This facility and every other private skatepark will be out of businees in a year.

    Thanks liberals!

  • Yes they are public until the economy picks up again.
