Skate and Annoy: Daily

Poweredge Magazine

Poweredge updates

The Poweredge Magazine archives have been updated. That’s Lance Mountain in the Nude Bowl on the cover of the March 1990 issue. They’ve got an interesting interview about some of the pros private skate facilities from that time period. Including a certain someone from SkateDaily. On the right is an old Deathbox advert for Pete Dossett that you can find in the old ads section. i know we’ve got some O.G. Deathbox fans who are readers. At the risk of being over-redundant (?) we’re talking about the UK company that morphed into Flip, not Swanks short lived Tumyeto venture. Get some vintage Poweredge magazine.

never mind. The last issue of Poweredge was October 91 and I have it after all. There were 36 issues.

OK, does anybody know when the last issue of Poweredge was? I’ve got issues through April 91, and I think that was the last. Does anybody have any later than that?

  • DEATHBOX one of the best companies of all time. UK at its finest.Remember the concave on those DB decks how fookin steep!!!

    PIGCITY

I hope they will eventually post all the issues. I loved that mag when I was a kid. The coolest thing about the mag is that they had a lot of coverage of not just the top pros but complete unknowns and highly underrated guys like Reese Simpson and Jeff Hartsel.

  • I loved Poweredge, I remember winding up with a bunch of these mags and a stack of stickers from Hamerhead (?- was that “Arab’s” clothing company??)…

That’s my favorite Deathbox graphic. The Pete Dossett “Mr. Punch”.

  • you may be right sea cliff, i may have been thinking of norcal style or one of those, my rememberance of the late 80s is fuzzy. sorry!

Half skating/ half BMX? I don’t think so. Maybe you’re thinking of Homeboy magazine. Poweredge was all skating and one of the best mags ever to boot.

My favorite was the issue where our friend Rick was misidentified as Reese Simpson on a COVER shot! And just so the whole world knows, Rick is the reason I can do f/s smiths…

  • god i miss poweredge! half skating half bmx…half color half b&w…ALL awesomeness!
