Oregon Trifecta 08 Results: Battle Ground

Pro
First: Benji Galloway
Second: Tim Johnson
Third: Kevin Kowalski
Fourth: Brice Niebuhr
Fifth: Bruno Passos
Sixth: Rion Linderman
Seventh: Sky Siljeg

Sky Siljeg is going to be (more of) a force to deal with. He was killing it and he’s something like 12 or 13 years old. Oregon skrote Rion Linderman pulled a proper McTwist in the final jam. There was another rain out (temporary) and another bad collision on the heals of yesterday’s in which Chad Shetler left blood from a head injury on the concrete. This time was pretty scary. Taylor Bingaman got knocked unconscious and started bleeding fast from his head. The good news is both guys are relatively OK.

The word on Chad and Taylor from Bryce Kanights:

They’re both doing ok. Chad Shetler received a concussion and twelve staples in his skull. He’s hanging out in Portland with his wife for the next few days to chill out and visit with friends.

Taylor stayed in the hospital overnight for observation, but he is out this morning and heading back home to Sacramento. He broke his nose, fractured his right cheekbone and received sixteen stitches to his left eyebrow and has a concussion as well.

Oregon Trifect 2008 overall results

Trifecta Overall Winners

Pro: Tim Johnson
Masters: Buck Smith
Women: Julie Kindstrand

So the person who swept the Trifecta was supposed to get the ATV, which went to Buck Smith, except that it technically should have gone to Julie Kindstrand since she actually placed first three times in a row, something Buck came close to, but didn’t quite do. (Insert argument about the women’s circuit deserving equal pay vs. the level of competition not meriting it… right… here.)

Photo features and coverage are going to trickle out this week. I’ve still got a lot of catching up to do from vacation and being engrossed in the Trifecta all weekend. I’m always glad when this thing is finally over.

    megan rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Whoever the filmer is that jacked the belt better not show up in the south!!!

  • tim will be back through here before he head back to Florida FYI

  • A

Weak! I heard the announcement about the stolen trophy belt too. How could you not i, especially if you were filming. What a dumbass. Need to find that guy’s name and make an example of him. Even if it’s only on the internet.

  • Breaking News,on S&A first. Overall Pro Belt, Found and taken off of NBC Filmer (Tyler?) at last day of Dew Tour.. I heard some people (Powers etc..) saw it, Chop & others confiscated it during the event while dude was filming on the JumboTron, should be overnighted to Florida and in Tims hands soon!!! Come on?? it said OVerall Pro Trifecta, dude said lame excuse that someone wrapped up shirts in the belt and he thought it was part of His package. Funny the belts were wrapped up 3 times inner loop very tight really dont see how that could of happened.. The Overall awards were announced on the mic when they got there, and displayed at Dj Booth next to other awards & phones, I think when Taylor got hurt a distraction happened and someone grabbed the Overall Pro award. THere was a 5 min. discussion asking for it back, how anyone could of missed that is beyond me, especially a filmer that was there at the event.. Then sporting it at the Dew what an ass..

  • julie’s cute.

  • Buck should have split the check with Julie.

  • Yea Lil Sky Siljeg, catching up to the big boys.. Look Out

  • Pat Nogho has got the smoothe style! I was super stoked to see Salba skate. Those padless young dudes were just killing it.

    Gene

  • Sick contest Sunday @ Battleground.

What happened to The Greek this year?

  • Big up’s to the old buzzards(Tom Kilroy & Larry Martin) who were out in force repp’ing OMA.

Tom should have placed higher as he was killing it..

  • SizzleChest

But he got some sweet Skull Candy headphones for the slam.

  • yep…I know helmets are not cool and all but in a jam format it’s kinda nuts not to wear one. It’s not gonna be so cool when someone dies from a bad head injury.

  • Damm those guys should of worn their brain buckets, that’s Gnarbuckle. Is it so worth looking kewl to not protect your gord?

  • seconding SSK’s post

Good skating is good skating, no matter what the sex of the skater.

  • Wouldn’t full equality be to combine the men and women’s contest? I’m just saying…

    It’s all good though.

  • chaperone

….ok, and is Niebuhr a beast or what???!!!! That dude took no prisoners…..

  • chaperone

What a weekend! Kowalski has all the tricks and style to match….with Benji, Tim, and Turgeson, Colin has to be stoked! Sky (turned 14 in July) became a man this weekend, rockin’ it and steppin’ up quite a few notches. Julie deserves better, Dave needs to kick some ass! Thanks for the coverage Randy….

  • Julie already got the “Patch” award earlier this year so she’s set. nyuk nyuk nyuk.

  • ps: I’d be pissed if I was Julie…it’s just not right.

  • BG was crazy, I watched most of it live on the go211 website…pretty cool to be able to watch it from the other side of the country. That last collision was scary.
Sky was crazy good and the whole Bacon crew just killed it, congrats.
    I miss Oregon concrete already…
