Sigmund and the Seamonsters?

Shoes are an important milestone in our short history as humans. From mobility, protection from the elements and the droppings of dogs. We wouldn’t be where we are without shoes, we owe our shoes for everything. Including the (alleged! – K.Ed) 14 hour work day in sweat shops making Adidas fashion footwear designed by Michael Sieben. I’m a starving artist myself so I give no discredit to Sieben’s capitalism.

Michael Sieben has been illustrating in the skate world for some time. From the pages of Thrasher adorning his artwork throughout numerous articles to the whimsical bottoms of Bueno skateboards (the gods of the interweb currently are smiting their website). Probably the most bizarre bit of advertising video can be found here. Image curtsey of Adidas.

fully backing this. sieben’s stuff is great. some of the funniest stuff thrasher has ever published.

  2. smiting is due to the no-more status of bueno skate company. cold war is the only notice-worthy company left…

  3. That’s it Marek, you’re off the… oh wait, never mind.

    that’s Sigmund AND THE SeamonsterS…

  5. Witchy-Poo, my humblest apologies.

I was very young with Sigmund and the Seamonsters was on television. I am also 90% deaf, I screwed up a lot of my childhood memories with my inferior hearing. For about 25 years I thought “Go Speed Racer” was called “Ghosty Eraser”. I used to sway nostalgic with friends my age about, “This awesome cartoon I loved as a kid called Ghosty Eraser, he had this bad ass Mach 5 car. Ever hear of it?”

  6. Sieben has a new board company called Roger. I saw a press release a couple weeks ago floating around the interweb.
There is also a whole Sieben mini website up at http://www.adidas.com/michaelsieben
