This edition of Saturday Starrs features Skateboarders from Hell which is a spoof of one of those old biker exploitation movies, although stylistically this is half 1950’s and half early 70’s. I can’t actually tell when this was made. The fashion on some the extras could be late 70’s or early 80’s. It looks like it was shot on 8mm film, but the titles look like really clean digital work. Maybe they were added years later, or maybe it was shot on old stock. I feel like I should know who some of the “actors” are. It’s kind of hard to tell via YouTube, and it’s further complicated by the presence of an advert for Tail Devils tacked on the end. Hopefully Scott Starr will shed some light on Skateboarders from Hell.

scotty, im down, a few months ago in corvallis we used all kinds of gas on the ground, the bad thing is that it stained the ground..but not my street so who cares. gas, or starting fluid on pool coping or red curbs is epic also..

OK a little info for everyone. This was from a 1980 film called LOOSE SHOES, aka COMING ATTRACTIONS aka QUACKERS… the film was just a bunch of fake Movie Trailers.. Did you notice they spelled SKATEBOARDERS wrong in the title? and the girl dancing on the table with her breast exposed is actress Betty Thomas a year before she starred in the tv show HILL STREET BLUES as Officer Lucy Bates.. i think a few of the other actors were regulars on Saturday Night Live.. and Sorry about the TAILDEVIL commercial at the end.. i gotta advertise since i invented it and started the company.. just one of the many pies i have my finger in..again, have fun with the clips.. It’s clearly a parody of the hot rod/biker movie genre, particularly the funeral scene which directly spoofs 1966’s American International flick Wild Angels.
BTW, if you paid the full suggested retail of $7.95 for your Tail Devil(s) you got ripped off!
