Skate and Annoy: Daily

Clebrity skaters from the past

Name this “celebrity” skater

Or at least the character he played as an actor. I’ll spill the beans after the jump.

Why it’s none other than… the white guy in CHiPs who isn’t Ponch. What’s his name? You know, the guy who isn’t Erik Estrada… oops I mean Erik Estrada. Sure, it’s the other guy. Now I’ll just look up his name on the interwebs™… losing interest… fading fast… Oh well. just look at his picture.

  • Interesting..

  • Brad aka handstandman!!

I think that episode had Moon Unit Zappa as a little kid, hitching a ride in the Valley. You Know “Valley Girl”.
The Punk Rock episode had a band called “Pain”. Their hit song was called “I Dig Pain”. The 80’s media always had a retarded view of what that music scene was all about. The show “Quincy” had a classic punk rock episode as well.
I don’t know how I remember this old meaningless nostalgia.
Today, I can’t remember what movie I watched last weekend.
What a drag it is, getting old.

  • that looks like lou ferrigno to me. the chips punk rock episode where the guy throws his bass off the roof was sick, and so was the skate one. those pigs could do anything! except for grossman, he was a dud and a half.

  • I remember Ponch bragging about doing a 360 tail tap off the high ramp. Maybe this episode.
    SF

  • soreknee

Wasn’t there a skate episode where Ponch was hassling free style skateboarders?

Oh wait, that was Wheels of Fire.
    Don

  • A

Well hell, what about the punk rock episode?

    Link

I saw it on YOuTube in spanish once, or maybe that was the skateboard episode…

The skateboard episode is in season 2 which is supposed to be released on DVD June of 2008. I don’t know if it is actually out yet. Wait, it is.

“Someone” should put that on their NetFlix list and put up a rip.

  • I secretly love this tv show, no secret any longer…

LA57Mary3 and LA57Mary4 were their handles on the radio… how pathetic is that?

What really rocked bout this show is the sound score to every episode, the best in wah-wah porn music funk every show.

  • Couldn’t find the episode on YouTube but there is a synopsis of the episode here.

  • Ah man- I thought it was Grover or Coulter for a minute. My wife said she wanted to marry ‘Ponch’ when she was little.

  • corncobcock

i love that episode! i think skatercross is right. did you see Ponch’s run? that was the spot they took the kids because they were skating unsafely in the street…um. I remember those pads..safer without em. signed, Mark Ganja-less

  • Prickly Pete

Yeah, the awning gives it away. Someone else care to add yet another layer of obscure knowledge to this trading card? Anyone remember seeing Larry showing up on a regular basis to cautiously roll around?

  • I’m guessing that’s SkaterCross in Reseda built into an old A&W drive-in.

  • Prickly Pete

I’m guessing it’s TV’s Larry Wilcox, aka Officer John Baker of the California Highway Patrol. Ironically, I think he was heavy into coke in real life. Uh, I guess that makes me the loser who won the SNA celebrity skater contest.
