Brotherhood Plaza - Stockholm Sweden

D.I.Y. not just for tranny

One stop on the recent Bacon tour of Sweden was the Brotherhood Plaza (Skarpnäck?) in Stockholm. The big shot above is Tim Johnson as taken by David Krug. David has been the driving force behind the plaza for the past four years. It’s essentially a Burnside-style sanctioned D.I.Y. skatepark, except instead of being tranny-centric, it’s all street plaza. The place looks like a fertile spot for many fun sessions. This isn’t a plaza with existing obstacles being sanctioned for skating, it’s built from the ground up for skateboarding. You can’t get a good overview from the few pictures above, you really need to spend some time checking out the photos and video on the Brotherhood Plaza web site. Bonus: After the jump you’ll find three pictures from Bacon’s visit.

  • kid sitting, second pic… is that a bottle of pop in his hand or…

  • I no longer think we are all on the same page . The kid sitting, not killing it !

  • actually Tim johnson is one of those skaters people stop to watch, dude rips.

  • voice of reason

nah…the kid probably had to work all week and was chomping at the bit to skate…but all his buddies were more interested in broing down while rounding up every person they know that rides a skateboard in a 40 mile radius. So the kid got there early…skated his brains out and even got to skate some areas of the park that he never touches during crowded weekend sessions. By the time his buddies got there he was burnt from several hours of skating. As his buddies high fived their bros and commented on everyones skill, style and ability…he just decided to bask in the moment and thought about how he just spent more time skateboarding in one morning then his buddies did all week.

  • one more for the thread count.

I want to see pics of your (so called) fat friends skating a curb. 😀

  • cool pics.. so.. do any of these guys have wheel wells? jk… the spot looks rad. Some of the pics on their site suggests that this DIY has at some positive coordination. Cool vibe. Any plans for a bowl?

  • nweyesk8

it looks rad, i love DIY, I even started digging my yard 🙂

  • the park looks rad, street skating rules.

  • Sticks and stones….

  • Bada Bing!

  • Maybe he was bummed on the locals, after his friend drove him there out of the goodness of his dumb old heart. Maybe that kid only likes to skate there in the morning because he hates people and wants the place to himself.

  • Insert pro street comment here . also, did anyone else notice the kid on the far left is sitting there in every pic?

  • A

What can I say, I’m trying here. I need help. Hint hint.

For crying out loud, this spot looks rad, even to an old bowl troll such as myself. I can’t believe there hasn’t been any interest n this post but the wheel well post has skyrocketed by comparison.

I swear to god if i have to pull this web site over i’ll start only posting pictures of me and my fat friends skating a curb. MC’s company excluded, he’s still fit.

  • I don’t really have anything to say but I want a street post on SnA to have a healthy comment count. SWEDEN!
