Skate and Annoy: Daily

Vote for the GVK Kontest Winner

Vote for GVK Kontest winner

All right, lets get this taken care of. I’ve got some poll software installed and now it’s time to vote for the winner of the GVK Photo Kontest. The prize package includes a skateboard of our choice and a bunch of random stuff. I thought we’d see more entries than we got, maybe we should have made a bigger deal about the prize. I’ve learned a few things from this contest, and I’ve already got an idea for the next one. Voting ends at Midnight, Pacific time, on June 22nd.

Vote for the GVK Photo Kontest winner

The system is imperfect. It would be nice to have the checkboxes next to the images, but I can’t do that easily without messing with some more plugins, so we’ll have to make do. Make sure you click the pictures to enlarge! Voting ends at Midnight, Pacific time, on June 22nd.

  • CONSENSUS OF NW HOT CHICK

O yes, that AZ STILL TRYING.. is one silver tounged devil indeed and he rides so hard and strong. Not bad on board either, that handsome kook.

    WINNER: AZ STIll TRYING…

  • I had a Cold War sighting at Movie Madness! I saw little boys carrying Cold War decks that were nearly as big as them.

  • AZ STILL TRYING BE CA

    fuck….im a dork.

  • AZ STILL TRYING BE CA

Thats silly. Mad Max would save/avenge me and the night rider is dead. Remember him..when you look at the night sky.

  • A

What if gangs take over the highways and the MFP can’t save you from the Night Rider and Toe Cutter?

  • AZ STILL TRYING BE CA

I agree, some of my best friends are Arizonians-ist.
Best skateparks in the nation probably.

But that whole state is a mess and I wouldnt live there again even if it depended on a limb being amputated….

Even if life came to a post apocolyptic-“waterworld” and it were one of the last land refuges with pure water……

Even if I were sentenced to life there and it was a state-turned-penatentary like Snake Pliskan.
You get the idea…I watch movies too much.

  • A

Hey! There are good people in Arizona! We’ve got readers there. There are morons in every state.

  • A

I never made that claim, but I found it amusing. I get all kinds of emails form people and organizations that think there is a paid staff here. It’s a compliment, really. How I wish it were true.

  • ARIZONA ZUCKS AND THE WHOLE STATE SMELLS LIKE COW-SHIT

…appealing to your pride as a legitimate journalist.

  • ARIZONA ZUCKS AND THE WHOLE STATE SMELLS LIKE COW-SHIT

I found that funny too. A

  • Let me get this straight (or gay)… You mean to tell me you’re a “professional” Kilwag?

  • Ryan Heckler

ok, but i only smoke swag when using empty pop cans

  • sleezyskates

uhhh i’ll smoke with your kid

  • nweyesk8

i love the way this website is full of people just waiting to ANNOY those that feel like they have been wronged in some way 🙂

  • AZ STILL TRYING BE CA

    Crybaby shit, so damn child.

Im sure that message did wonders for their marketing plan.
BTW, my 13 yr old nephew called and wants his clever bag of “AIDS & faggot” retorts back. He also wants to know if anyone is down to smoke weed out of an empty pop can w/him….

  • sorry someones bashing you on the site kilwag. when you put out lame equipment expect a bad review, Josh.

  • Ryan Heckler

Good old Josh, you can tell he did his homework, “Founder Josh Madsen, an ASU junior in computer science engineering, got hooked on longboarding while visiting a friend in Austin. Though he wrecked badly on that visit, he stayed interested and realized that longboarding and skateboarding had not made many technological advancements since their inception in the 1950s and 1960s.” ……….NO Technological advancements in almost 60 years?!?! having only skated 25 of those years myself, i have personally witnessed quite a bit of ‘technological advancement’, Rodney Mullen Developed ‘Street trucks’ that have no turning geometry no matter how hard you lean, perfect for the modern street skater who only skates in relatively straight lines. Powell developed a new Urethane compound that is amazing to ride in today’s modern, butter smooth, cement parks, or even the fact that Urethane wheels were a ‘technological advancement’ of the seventies. All the different Board Materials developed over the years, while some are better than others, would also seem to constitute ‘technological advancement’ in skateboards, I would go on, but I hope someone with the Intellectual power of our Computer Science Major, Josh, would be capable of using ‘Google’ to do a search and learn something poignant and useful.

  • A

For a computer science major at ASU, he’s not too bright. Duh!

  • Ryan Heckler

what part of ‘Annoy’ didn’t he understand? my next question is for Josh, if you see a terd on the sidewalk do you?…………………………………………

    A) poke, prod, sniff, and taste, to verify it is indeed a piece of shit ?

    B) assume from your prior years of experience that what you are looking at is a terd and avoid accordingly ?

  • A

I think Josh is pissed that I didn’t take his product more seriously:

    Dear Editor,
On May 23rd, 2008 Kilwag wrote a scathing article titled, “Nice Rims” on the Genghis Skate wheel system. I am really surprised that a
“professional” writer in formal address of any audience would not only
discredit a really great product, but do so without having ever even
tested that product! Additionally, this blind-review also employed
proprietary photographs, and commentary without the consent of Genghis Skate. The photographs used were from an industry email blast, not from the lenses of Skate and Annoy cameras. Are all the reviews that appear in your publication based upon a product’s theoretical merit, or did you all make an exception for Genghis? I was really shocked that such subjective, venomous swill could make it past an editor, especially an editor that is mindful of maintaining a solid journalistic reputation, or at the very least informing readers.

    Josh Madsen
    Genghis Skate

Shortly after I replied to him that he was overreacting, it wasn’t a review, the photos were from the PR spam he sent and were credited and linked, etc… the nasty “KilwagTheFag” comment appeared. I did some investigating, and presented some facts.

  • Interesting enough, the IP address that came from traces to Arizona State University, and I have coincidentally been getting heated emails today from someone at Genghis Skate over alleged venomous swill. Their headquarters are in

Interesting enough, the IP address that came from traces to Arizona State University, and I have coincidentally been getting heated emails today from someone at Genghis Skate over alleged venomous swill. Their headquarters are in…. Phoenix Arizona! ASU has a Phoenix campus as well.

  • A

Sorry folks, I just broke up with my secret boyfriend at ASU, and he doesn’t seem to be taking it too well.

  • KilwagTheFag

Skate and Annoy sucks, and Kilwag should do himself and the industry a big favor and go fuck himself with a sp[ikey dildo soaked in AIDS, or just kill yoursellf you fucking cocksucker.

  • Kvon, the Grovefather does not ask for a second favor after he is denied the first.

  • Look at the Grovefather.. no one can touch him! Maybe he has made the voters “a deal they can’t refuse” lol!

  • I voted for myself… lame, I know… but all things are fair in love and cold war.

  • GorgeGoat
