London Bowlriders

London’s Burning (with alcohol)

Yeah it’s a tired Clash reference, but at least I didn’t title it London Calling. Our Czech ex-pat Marek Litinski went back to the fatherland (motherland?) for a week and got stuck in London for an extra week becasue his “papers weren’t in order,” or so he claims to his wife… While he was there he happened on the Quiksilver Bowlriders contest in Cantelowes, a Dreamland park that we posted about earlier. Some of the eurpean skate sites have video from that contest up. Now Marek supposedly finished 4th, but must have done somehting to piss off the locals because every time he comes on camera the cut to a different guy. I begged Marek to bring a camera with him so we could get a little European skate coverage that wasn’t hand me down, and he obliged. When I spoke to him on his return, he said the thing that made the biggest impression on him was the fact that adults were allowed to openly drink beer in the presence of minors without the Aumsville Police U.K. equivalent of the National Guard being called out. Ironically, he was also present when Lodoners had near riot conditions during an all nigh binge drinking protest in the tubes. It seems the mayor banned drinking on subway trains and the drunks people got upset. So what did Marek bring me? A bunch of “lifestyle” shots. Ah, those Europeans. You can take the drunk out of Czechoslovakia, but you can’t take the Czech out of the, errr… what? Pics and video after the jump.

– Thanks to Jeremy Donaldson for the tip.

Some of the same characters from the previous video post are now heavy hitters a this park, namely Aaron Sweeney and Benson.

Here’s a link to some video from Tackyworld. You’ll notice Marek almost getting landed on in the opening sequence. Then you’ll notice him getting edited out as well. 4th place or 40th?

Sidewalk Skateboarding magazine has has two video clips up on Mpora, but their streaming servers seem to be struggling. It’s massively skipping frames at the time I’m writing this, so you might want to check back later.

  • That park is really fun. Right in London too.

Ginnie, settle down. A simple correction was all that was needed.

Sorry. I was thinking of Saffron Walden, which was also featured in the earlier video with Cantelowes. It’s funny you should mention that because I was watching the Cantelowes videos thinking that they seemed a little out of character for a Dreamland park, but I couldn’t place my finger on it.

Nobody mentioned anything about who designed Malmo, but yeah That’s PTR.

  • Dreamland didn’t build or design the Cantelowes park.
Jeremy Donaldson did. Stefan Hauser (PTR)did the Malmo park. Get that right.

gothboy needs to shave the bum-fluff off his upper lip. He looks like he’d be more at home at the renaissance fair than at a skatepark.

  • I can’t wait the Malm
